Loss to Giants eliminates Vikings from playoff contention

RECAP: Life without Brett Favre is even worse than expected. Picking up a first down was a struggle for the Vikings , who were outdistanced 310-112 in total offensive yards through the first three quarters and lost 21-3 to the New York Giants tonight in Detroit. Full Story

Good. Now that the whole playoff contention thing is settled, Favre's streak is over and Tarvaris Jackson is out as a long term option, can we finally just give it to Joe Webb for the last 3 games so everyone can see if they need to pursue a QB in the 1st round of the draft?

That would be swell.

Firing Chilly really whipped this team into shape. They'll be back in contention in the year 2525, with any luck.

I'm afraid that we've got to many holes to fill to get a QB in the first round. Plus we've lost a draft pick with the Moss ordeal.

the saints certainly exposed the weaknesses of the vikings. the DL and especially allen have been non-entities all year...time to clean house people...he is too small and is getting manhandled by OT's as fast and stronger...

There should be no doubt that Jackson is not an NFL QB. Time to see what Webb can do and plan to get somebody else for next year

I only saw the box score. Did T Jack flunk out? I see Webb got in a little playing time. No run game either. A shame, was hoping to see a "W"- ah well...

Why would anyone drop everything to fly to Detroit to watch this team?

If they lost, the trip would at least still be worth it if they played in L.A.

Kluwe is the lone bright spot in an offense-free, running game free , QB-less sh*t game in a nuetral site.

Brad Childress and long-term plans at QB.

I say start Jackson the rest of the way. Then IR, then the waiver wire.

Thank god, I'll be dead by then.
I thought you were going to say, "back in contention by 2015" and that would have given me something to live for.

The problem is that Chilly was not the only one that needed to go, Bevel has to be the worst OC in the league. A retarded 4th grader could call better plays, and he seems to not catch on when 1 yrd passes get stuffed all game? Or hey we have gotten stuffed on every run up the middle, lets try a few more times? I say Wilf needs to fire all of coaches and start over, then we are done with the Chilly mess. Short of his ego getting in the way of drafting a QB since he bet the farm on TJoke.

Did not see the game but looking at the stats, Jackson average 8 yds a throw, run game stopped cold, missing key offensive players (Harvin & Huthinson), I guess you could predict the outcome. Plus the NFC North compared to the East is not as good, I could not believe the Giants were only 3 point favorites.
I don't think you will see any Pucker fans gloating over the Vikings loss after their precious team stunk up their game against the Lions worse than the Vikes did.

First lets let it be known the fans at tonights nfl exsperence were many many homeless looking for a place to stay warm- this is a fact and behind the scenes had to be a story yet to be told. the other is the metrodome now being looked at as a safety issue. what if this happened when the dome was full of people. the experts on scene say the exits are not up to code and many people could have been killed. guess what this dome is going to be legally shut down because of safety, the whole roof will need to be replaced and this team is going to be moved as a matter of fact wheather a new stadium is built or not. now a no brainer as an owner i'd run for the hills or sell this um so called team.

I think this game finally gets everyone on the same page. This team is done. Time to rebuild. Let's hope Zygi is smart and starts with a real GM and goes from there. We need it all.

Looks like another ten years before we're back.'77,'87, 98,'09...see a pattern here...'20?

One more thing are there any Tjack supporters still out there?
