Comeon an average of just 109 per game rushing against the Vikes is not too shabby regardless of which NFL team it is against.

Maybe the Williamses need to slim down a bit so they are more agile, can you say starcaps?

Looking at the box score from Sunday's game, maybe it was a misprint, but Kevin Williams didn't make a tackle, not even an assist...did he play?

He's the key to the d-line's ability to stop the run...along, of course, with the best core of starting linebackers in the NFL. In the long hall, the run defense will be just fine.

The four man pass rush isn't doing much, but I think it's just a matter of playing with attitude, especially Jared Allen. When he plays mad, he creates havoc!

This is just a product of coaching. The biggest problem I have about our coaching staff is they CAN'T coach up our players! 2 bad teams(lions look to be better) but slow starts for both games. They team knows that they should win so they aren't ready for the games. If you look at any championship caliber team the coaches get the most out of every player! The only superstars we have that fight to the death are AP and Jared Allen. They are born that way but a good coach gets everyone to that mentality every game and all game.

Vikings better get it together before
the San Fran game....they are a better
team this season...Vikings can't take
anything for granted....can't play
a game because of what is printed in
newspaper about how great Vikes defense
is with Jared Allen blah, blah, blah....
they have to prove it on the field every
week...every week is the Super Bowl for
the Vikings....we can't run on the fumes
of previous seasons....lets get going
...it is a long road to Miami....we need
more gas in the tank..........

You people would complain if you were hung with a new rope. 2 wins. Not enough sacks? Not enough tackles? Not enough passing yards?

Tackles and sacks start with opportunity. Down field passing comes with opportunity and NEED. The Browns and the Lions could not stop the run or the short pass underneath because they couldn't tackle. Why would you go down field when peterson, harvin, et al. couldn't be stopped?

You people should just enjoy the success. It seems even I have more respect for the Vikings than you people or the sportswriting community do.

Can't wait for Oct 5 and Nov 1

Finally an article that breaks down some of the nuances of the game. It sounds like it's not a problem of lackadaisical play from the Vikings defenders but more of a problem with the mental component of the game. It will be interesting to see if in watching the game films they will see their "mental" errors, make the needed adjustments and get back to the top run defense in the league.

You're Pukers loose weight by having the stuffing kicked out of them by the Ben-girls. Can you say Losers?

2008: 6th in total yards allowed (292/game), 13th in points per game allowed (20.8)
2009: 4th in total yards allowed (266/game), 8th in points per game allowed (16.5)

I know it hasn't been the best competition so far, but they were two road victories and the total defense is better than last season. What's with all the complaints?

Yes KLINK you need to shore up your run defense and your pass protection against this smash mouth team that plays ball like its coach did back in the 80's.
Question is are you smart enough to motivate your team into making the adjustments? I hope so.
Frankly, I am glad we are 2-0 but let's face it, the Vikings have yet to play 60 minutes of football under this retarded head coach

Having the #1 run defense doesn't mean a whole heck of a lot if you don't win the Superbowl. Its just stats. Wins are what matters. The Vikings got the job done PERIOD!

Tired of the constant negative sports writing in the Twincities the past several years. Its rather old. Had the Vikings lost to the Browns and Lions, then you have something to rumble about! Give it a rest~

FYI- The 49ers aren't all that good. Oh boy, they beat the Cardinals and a seahawks team that couldn't compete once hasslebeck went down. Different story in Minnesota!

That's it? That's all you got. Well at least you didn't resort to name calling like most of the mom's basement dwelling mouth breathers that inhabit the Viking fan base of this board.
