yeah, i have liked tyrell from the moment i saw his intense stare on the sidelines. he truly appears to be a guy that does not f#c* around. first couple games were kinda rough for him (greg jennings smoked his ass bad in that first game) but after that he was solid. so glad he will be replacing that puker sharper.

I am ready for Johnson to take over and to see what he can do. I do believe that he will be a playmaker.

What the hell is that all about? Do you watch the games with mood lighting? With fans like you around Johnson will not be able to cover anybody due to the weight of the cast iron jock strap he is now forced to wear thanks to your stalking of him.Your criticism of Sharper is way off course. He is and will continue to be one of the 5 best safeties in the league for at least 2 more years.Everything about this defense was different last year due to the loss of EJ Henderson.Hard to be a playmaker when your best defender was out for the season forcing you to stay in your position.

I believe in the kid. His play will determine whether this is a good defense or a great defense, your safeties are your defensive Quarterback and needs to have good insticts. Tyrell seems to have it upstairs, as long as he trusts his abilities.

Well, I don't know about his "intense stare", or any of that kind of malarky, I tended to see him in more of a technical, critical light. Critical, because I knew what Madieu brought to the table. I thought that he did a pretty decent job. He showed a steady improvement. That's all you can ask. He has the talent, athletically, from what I could see. Sort of like the Chad Greenway effect: Talent, and steady improvement.- I think that it's wrong for any poster to diss Sharper though. Sharper is a talent that, yes, is declining with age, but I don't think fit quite as well with this defensive scheme. N.O. should get a year or two of good stuff out of him. That being said, I think T. Johnson will do just fine. I agree with "bleedspurple that EJ being out had ALOT to do with Sharper's, and others, performance. EJ's kind of like the "un-sung hero" in MN's defense. This defense is totally "kick-@$$".(unlike the offense) Klink's supposed to be an offense guy. Funny that the best things that have happened to this team have been mostly defensive... Really, the only good things that I can see that happened offensively, have been AD (luck. Not Klink's doing) C. Taylor,(Klink's doing) and Hutch. Anything else is like "incidental luck".

Top 5 safety? Sharper has clearly lost a step or two - he's still good and I would have been fine if the Vikes kept him, but top 5 - don't think so. Johnson will do just fine...I'm just concerned about depth if he or Williams goes down.

Funny how things go in circles. For years the Vikes were known for defence with the Puple People Eaters. Then came the high flying offensive years with Denny Green and Carter and Moss and such. Now, for some interesting conversation, they are a "potential" KAO while in reality they are a KAD. A bit like the Steelers minus the muddy unis.

How many Vikings home games do you think will be BLACKED-OUT this year?

I know. It's pretty ironic, isn't it? That's what was on my mind this morning too.

Well, 4 out of 5 for sure... Reserving judgement on the first one mentioned here. But I hope that you're right...

Well, I sure hope not. Cause I'm one of the 8.5% of unemployed Americans out of work and can't find work. So, I've decided to go back to college.
So, I'll have no choice BUT to support my team from my living room this year.

I also hope that the Vikes front office is smart enough to pick up a high-profile player or two,(or better yet, a high-profile COACH!- probably wishful thinking though), before pre-season. I think that would help get the fans more into it......go Vikes....

This will never be a great defence until the Vikes can stop the pass. It has been since 1996 since the Vikings have been in the top 15 in pass defence, look around the league other than in MN this isn't considered a dominating defence. I think dominating defence I think Steelers, Eagles, Ravens.

The Vikings had the #8 Total Offense in the whole NFL last year. Not sure why everyone thinks they are horrible. Uninformed I guess. With fans like these, who need rivals?
