It's unfortunate that you don't hear and/or read about students from other schools who have achieved greatness and spend their lives saving lives and/or helping and contributing to society and aiding and assisting people who need help... It's always about "PUNAHOU!" Well, I know many Punahou Graduates who--FRANKLY--got in to Punahou on a wing and prayer (politically) and Graduated with barely a "C" average--who have contributed absolutely nothing to this Planet/Country/County-City/MAN KIND and we don't read about these DEADBEATS! Enough with the PUNAHOU Charade and B.S.! What has Punahou done for Society lately? All I've witnessed is a bunch of greedy spoiled brats--with no common sense and no regard for anyone but themselves! It's the heigth of Narcissim!

I agree with kima and have said the same many times. Let us focus on the good works of countless public school grads or even the grads of the other private schools. Puns are a bit of a shibai anyway.

What has Punahou done lately? Held a Carnival, yeah?
All kidding aside, I wish I could have afforded to send my kids there. Maybe they would have been more prepared for college, but then again, maybe not!

Man, the star bulletin has a hard-on for punahoe. If it was another school, I'm sure they would not have mentioned it.

Hey star bulletin...how's about reporting the drug problem they have at that school!!!

Agreed. What would have been more appropriate if they just mentioned that Chang was'born and raised in Hawaii' NOT that she was a 'Punahou grad'
It is true though that Punahou encourages their kids to think globally and gives them the education and positive encouragement to acheive such goals such as what Chang has accomplished. No reporter has to remind me how my public education held me back and how I had to spend a major part of my life to catch up. That is why I find the Punahou reference pretty pathetic but will not lose any sleep over the reference.

Public school grads no doubt accomplish important achievements and are essential parts of Hawaii's economy and society. However, jealousy of Punahou grads being mentioned will not change the fact of their accomplishments. If you want public school grads to get more attention, you can help publicize them by mentioning them to the newspaper.
