I'll miss Tiki, but I think he's making waves, from off the field, by bashing a guy who, literally, turned his career around for the better !

I agree with you Johnette, and Mike is an idiot to say you shouldn't have an opinion because your a woman. I'm sick of hearing Tiki complain. Before Coughlin coached him, he was the worst fumbler in the NFL. His last 3 years have been spectacular within the system. How quickly people forget his first 7 years. Without Tom, Tiki wouldn't have as much money in the bank, and he might have even been cut. Tiki's career will be defined by his last 3 years, and he owes a big part of his success to TC.

I don't think Barber is being a jerk about anything. Coughlin's records versus Barbers records...enough said. Tiki is saying what so many of the fans are thinking, Coughlin should go...period. Tiki was and will always be one of the best Giants ever to suit up, you are kidding yourself if you think otherwise. His attitude is legitimate, I applaud him for speaking his mind rather than acting like Camp Coughlin is perfect. If its arrogant for Tiki to say the Giants will hurt missing one of their best players so be it, I for one don't find it arrogant since he has been hovering around 50% of total TEAM offense for several years, you do the math. Going to miss you Tiki!

Going to miss you Tiki! You people obviously haven't followed this guy's whole career. One of the greatest Giants ever to suit up?!?!For a VERY short period. Listen folks, this man had a great few years[3],a good few years[3],and some servicable years. Now,I AM gonna miss Tiki's offence, but, the first 5 or 6 years of this guy's career,he put the ball on the ground a lot.A lot.A lot.A lot.A lot.! That changed when Coughlin came. That is INDESPUTABLE.Ask any Giant fan from the NY area.He admits as much in the whole interview.By blowing his horn, he hurts what little credibility Coughlin has left.Considering Coughlins coadhing helped create Barbers, you'd think he'd do the right thing and leave it alone !He is of course entitled to say what he wants, but, well,I hope my friends don't treat me like that after we move on !

Going to miss you Tiki! Take a look at the players on the san diego chargers. Do you see them bashing their former head coach? How easy would it be for all of them to bash marty now that he's gone? Tiki needs to take a lesson in class. If he keeps talking sht they should make him wait a few years to retire his jersey

As a Giant fan, I loved Tiki. I still think he's a great man. He will be a great broadcaster.
That said, Coach Coughlin got the best out of Tiki. Tiki was done in NY when Jim Fassel was coaching. Remember it was Coughlin that cured the fumbles. Tiki would have been the fumbler....now he's the super star driving off into the sunset.
Good luck TIKI .......GO GIANTS!!

Tiki flourished under Coughlin's tutelage????!!! If he is such a great teacher, then why hasn't he taught all the other players how to excel at their positions? Because he's not the coach that worked with Tiki. News flash; Coughlin did not cure the fumbles. It was running backs coach Jerald Ingram AND Tiki's hard work. Does anyone think that a coaches teachings alone can change how a player performs? Of course not. The player has to be teachable to begin with. Enough with the Coughlin cured his fumbles already. It's false.
Tiki's numbers became exceptional, not because of Coughlin, but because he was the best offensive tool the Giants had, and the plays were called for him. Plays that were not called by Coughlin.
As for asking Tiki to take the hits on Sunday then practice hard during the week just like all the other players is just showing ignorance of the game. When a ball carrier touches the ball as often as Tiki did, consequently getting tackled as often as Tiki did, then he is going to get beaten up a lot more than the other players. Yes they all get hit, and hit hard, but when you have the ball, you get nailed most.
Tiki now owns most of the Giants' running back records. That makes him one of the best players to wear a Giants jersey, whether anyone likes it or not.

mickeeteeze wrote: Yeah well, considering Tiki's a guy who was an underachiever until he met Coughlin,he probably ought to just shut up.And move on. Yup, Tiki was a fumbler until Coughlin came along. Coughlin made Tiki sleep with a football in his arms at night; a similar trick used by Marine, Parris Island drill instructors who make recruits sleep with their weapons. Will such tactics win the Giants a Super Bowl under Coach Tom, though? Probably not. Tiki should just enjoy retirement, and shut the hell up. Jeez, look up the word "motormouth" in the dictionary, and a picture of Tiki is probably there.
