I've never heard ANYONE say anything negative about this game, much less any El Pasoan. Honestly this story angle seems contrived and intentionally negative...and why? why attempt to sully the game or to give anyone the impression, especially the guy who was generous enough and had the confidence in this city to locate the game here?
WE NEED events like this, plus word is there may be a 2nd all star game in the works..so as the saying goes..."Don't look a gift horse in the mouth"

I personally couldn't care less where this event is rated on someones mythical list...all that matters is its here, its unique, it has momentum and solid support and we are damn lucky to have it!

Typical negative El Paso slant..pick apart everything good and positive and run it out of town.
...when will it end people..when will the self destruction end?

Hey, everybody at work seems to be really excited about this game and I was surprised how many people are planning other family events around this game. Third-rate, I think not. It's not typical El Paso anything, it's just the naysayers that speak out the loudest, just like any other city in the country.

Amen to that Tony. This is El Paso, home of the "Hater". El Pasoan's don't want anything, unless its free, and even then they'll complain it wasn't good enough.

El Paso beware! Someone is trying to take this game away from you! Someone needs to call out the guy who made the negative comments and put his feet to the fire. I dont live there anymore and I miss it dearly. I wish I was there to show my support. This game belongs in El Paso so don't let anyone ever take this away from you. SELL THIS EVENT OUT! This is an opportunity for many middle and High School kids to take part of and to be inspired to someday be in the game as well! With as many High Schools in El Paso now, these students should be the main focus and not just military personnel.

Just stop and think about the number of local kids that don't get a chance to play in their own back yard here at UTEP? Why because their not good enough supposedly. But yet they leave home and go onto to play at other D-1 schools and sometimes come back home and kick the living crap of the same team that wouldn't recruit them "UTEP." Then stop and compare those kids that will be coming to play in Texas vs the Nation and just imagine how they feel. Not good enough to go and play in the Senior East/West game, but when you read this story it tells you about the number of kids that HAVE made it to the NFL and ARE playing. Why? Because they were given a chance to play in t his weekends game. How many of these Texas vs the Nation players are now in the NFL because they were given a chance to play in this game? You count them and you will see PLENTY, come on EL Paso don't let this game get away like the Buzzards ice-hockey team, the REAL Diablos baseball team, the Generals football team, etc. Support this game or it to will go away. We always talk about that there is nothing to do here well guess what? We have no one to blame but ourselves. GET OUT and support this game, the HALL of FAME has it's name on it. When have you ever seen that before outside of Canton? I'll be there Saturday at HIGH Noon, to support our second yearly football bowl game.

I have yet to miss this Texas vs the Nation All Star Game and I always have a great time.

What worries me is that this Texas vs the Nation All Star Game will not survive or will end up leaving El Paso to another city. I say this because the Texas vs the Nation All Star Game does not get enough local media support. As it is El Paso is a tough city to grow things and events especially new events like this All Star Game needs lots and lots of local media support. Look at the El Paso Generals. They folded after their first season and they made it to the IFL Championship. Even the Rumble before them failed. Not even the El Paso Seminoles, formerly known as the El Paso Brawlers, are getting sufficient support from the local media.

This Texas vs the Nation All Star game needs lots of support from local media in El Paso. What I don't understand is why is NOT the local media from El Paso covering this Texas vs the Nation All Star Game in more depth and helping it out?

ELPASOTIMES.COM is doing somewhat of a decent job but they can do alot better especially with all the resources they have and with the old medium they are still practicing in the distribution of a newspaper. Sad thing about the newspaper is that not every person buys it anymore especially football buffs like myself who access the internet by laptops and cell phones.

EPGRIDIRON.COM has nothing on the Texas vs the Nation All Star Game on their website and this is a website that has all the El Paso football fanatics in one place. I have done research on this website and it has been around like 5 years almost the same amount of time as the Texas vs the Nation All Star Game. I have been visiting this website since 2007 and I have never seen anything in regards to Texas vs the Nation.

KVIA.COM is doing a terrible job at it on their website and I believe they are some kind of a sponsor with Texas vs the Nation. They have a Texas vs the Nation logo on their website and a article of the Texas vs the Nation of Alabama's 2 players but that's it. Terrible!!!

ALLSTARFOOTBALLCLASIC.COM has nothing on Texas vs the Nation on their website and Texas vs the Nation is actually sponsoring their all star high school football game. What kind of appreciation towards Texas vs the Nation is that? Where's the gratitude. They only have Texas vs the Nation as a all district sponsor. Just a few words. What a slap to the face.

KTSM.COM has nothing on it on their website.

KFOX.COM has nothing on it on their website.

KDBC.COM has nothing on it on their website.

I don't know if it's the Texas vs the Nation staff that is doing a poor job at working with local media in El Paso or if the local media in El Paso just wants nothing to do with Texas vs the Nation. Or maybe it could be that businesses in El Paso simply do not know how to work together to grow things.

Whatever the problem might be people from these businesses better work together fast if this Texas vs the Nation All Star Game is to survive and remain in El Paso. I would hate to see it fold.
