I can only speak for myself..I do not believe anything that comes out of his mouth..bottom line for me is I do not believe he is sincere..but that's just me!<quoted text>
He in fact has publicly stated what he did to those animals is was was wrong on his part several times. He's taken full responsibility and has held himself accountable for all his previously disgusting and heinous acts that included the dog fighting and killing of animals.
The real problem is, is that some of you won't even pull the blinders off and see the silver lining to this once dark cloud. M. Vick getting caught for this has raised animal cruelty awareness to unprecedented heights. Without him, many more dog fighting rings/circuits would be going on today all functioning under the radar.
Stop always looking for the negative and focus on the real positives from all of this.

I have no problem with your viewpoint or opinion. You can believe what you want to about vick just as I can, and will, believe what I want to about him. I also don't presume to know what you think or feel. If I said so previously or led you to think that, I apologize.
We obviously have different opinions regarding vick's motives for his actions and words since his release from prison. I just don't understand why you want to take everything he does and says at "face value" without questioning his motives. I think that is what has led to the misunderstanding. I don't demean you for your views, I'm merely curious as to why you seem to want to believe everything he says and does when everything in his past indicates that he is a liar and a criminal. Vick has only taken accountability, told the truth, and spoken out against dog fighting when his back was against the wall.
In addition, you say there isn't enough vick could do to redeem himself in my eyes. That's not true. I've posted to you, I think twice now, that if he were to monetarily donate to an animal welfare organization in combination with giving of his personal time, especially during the off season, to help or assist an animal welfare organization that in my eyes he may just actually be somewhat remorseful for the atrocities he committed against dogs. To my knowledge he does neither of those two things. And just so I'm clear as to my meaning, periodically standing next to the idiot, wayne pacelle, and saying dog fighting is a terrible thing and I reject it, doesn't qualify in the slightest bit as "giving of his time" to aid in the benefit of abused animals. I'm talking about getting down in the trenches and physically helping some animal welfare organization and he's got plenty of time for that when he's not playing football.
This may come as a surprise but, like you, I also used to be fond of vick and loved to watch him play. Watching him scramble was like watching a running back on crack and watching him make the defensive line, linebackers, and blitzing db's look clueless was very entertaining. But then he was exposed as the sociopathic POS he is and, needless to say, my opinion of him changed.
The last thing I would say to you is I don't let hate affect me like you think it does people. It doesn't guide my actions and it doesn't own me. I don't know about you but I can hate someone/thing and still act and think in a rational manner.

I don't take what he says at face value but while he's saying all the right words and keeping his nose clean what can we do but keep a heightened awareness to animal cruelty and hope stays the course?
Also, what you're saying is, is that if Vick did basically those last 2 things you'd like him to along with making you believe what he says(good acting coach can do that for him)then you'll be just fine with him currently? I say he's really done all he can do to satisfy the majority because not everyone can be pleased no matter what you do but you're not wrong at all for feeling that he's lying through his teeth. He may just be and most people would too if it meant making 10's of millions per year again playing a sport professionally and all that comes with it.
I'm surprised yet happy for you that you can actually be rational while maintaining hatred for someone because love and hate are at opposite ends of the spectrum and we all know when love is involved the brain goes and the same in most cases rings true with hate. Vick ain't worth it my friend and like I said, if it really means that much to you I'd really seek him out via the appropriate channels and go at him 1v1. Because honestly it seems most of us you'd call "Vick supporters" don't mind that you hate what he's done, it's just the way you come across when relaying your feelings and thoughts typically because strong feelings of hate can make one irrational for a time.

I can't believe we've been on this forum for nearly 5 years. What makes this forum interesting enough for me to keep checking back in is the differences in opinions, the funny way some insults are thrown around and the ongoing diatribe about Vicks atrocious behavior. I especially like the wisecracking (most of the time) except when it gets too personal and nasty, and like debating what we think of Vick's actions. Where else is there to go to be able to discuss these things like adults (well, sometimes not so much like adults) than right here? It's a good place to vent, chat, see what others think, whether we like it or not and just entertain ourselves. I don't hate Vick, but hate what he did. I don't trust anything he says but remain open should I see if he changes his ways. I don't know about you, but I've learned a few things on here too. But it's slowly dying out....until Vick does something to talk about again. I kind of hate to see it go. It's been fun.
