Personally, I've never had good thoughts about the guy even during his Florida days. Dude made some really dumb decisions there and the laptop incident and academic issues were known facts, not allegations.

Mentor to kids since the summer at Auburn Public School - Fact.
No academic issue at AU - Fact.
Natural leader - Fact.
He is a class act and if you'd ever met him, you would know this fact.
Everyone should get a second chance and Newton has done a 180 w/ his chance.
He is well respected by players, coaches, and fans.

Fault always lies in the same place, with those weak enough to lay blame.

That's fine, he deserves a second chance, and I'm sure he's a good person and all. But I still maintain that Cam isn't "squeaky clean" in all that investigation even though he was cleared. Not saying he's a "bad guy" based on interviews, but there were certain times he didn't come off well.

to be honest, knowing how screwy the ncaa, I hope you understand my skepticism on this whole auburn deal, even though they were cleard. USC couldve (and shouldve) gotten worse sanctions, just as an example. The recent Ohio State suspensions, Imo, were fine, but they let Pryor and co. play in the Sugar Bowl, also the 3 of the 5 games they were suspended for are essentially cupcakes.

I'll say this for Newton, Gus Malzahn is probably the best OC in CFB. He's been a real asset in CN's development. As much as I want Oregon to kick AU's ass, Mahlzan is too good of an OC to get dominated.

That said, Go ducks, I hope they blow out Auburn!
