Vontae Davis: Will newest Miami Dolphins Vontae Davis' positive...

Full story: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

What struck me about the Dolphins brain trust last year was that every time any of them talked -- every single time -- they mentioned team character, personal makeup and the blueprint for a player being , "smart, tough and disciplined." After Saturday, thankfully, we're done with that hoo-ha. Don't listen to what they say.

I am very disappointing. It seems like we took a step back when we drafted Pat White. I liked the thought of Chad Henne as our future QB and I would have thought the other picks would have been to give him help not QB competition.

Henne has been a huge dissapointment. The Fish missed the boat when they passed up Matt Ryan.

How can adding more offensive talent be a 'step back'? I love the pick! I have no problem with keeping everyone guessing about how he can be used! Just as the Wildcat confounded some defenses at times, bringing in such a versatile and talented player will do the same. And if it all equates to a more explosive offense and more W's, then so be it!

I could care less if he's arrogant (Davis). I only care that he makes plays.

I will trust Bill Parcell's decisions and opinions over Dave Hyde's any day of the week, and twice on Sundays. The first 2 rounds addressed a MAJOR team weakness and provides someone that can actually throw the ball out of the wild cat offense, not to mention run as well.

White should bring a very interesting season in the offensive. I like Vontae Davis, we now have a major presence in the defensive backfield.

I like the picks Dave. We addressed our secondary issues. We drafted a superman of an athlete in White. I know a thing or 2 about thinking outside the box. This is brilliant. We may be watching the evolvement of the NFL offensive scheme? The Wildcat is no gimmick. The powers that be in Davie have decided that.

I like the corners too. Some character issues can be resolved.Like you said it's not drugs, maybe just a little immaturity. Time will tell but as a life long Dolphin fan I like the direction and the thinking of the staff.

I also like what the Jets did. I hate them but for once I think they got it right with trading to get Sanchez.

WHAT? Guy has been in the league for a year, behind a qb that should have been in the pro bowl? They got Pat White so they could have different look on offense. If you think Henne is disappointing at all, you know nothing.

Our starting db's are all head hunters with Vontae opposite Will Allen.

This is a complete 180 from their last draft. think a couple of times the guy that would have been a great fit went the pick right before, Peria Jerry in the 1st and Everett Brown in the 2nd. I really hope they though this out b/c the Jets and Pats had really good drafts.

I think the NFL is a league that adapts and changes with the times. The Wildcat is here to stay. Maybe we are witnessing the evolution of NFL offenses. Maybe we have the team leading the charge to this new approach that revolutionizes the league? Hey it worked last year, why not try to improve on it. The kid can be a great fit "White", perhaps a possession receiver, the pesky guy who gets open and breaks tackles. Or lines up in the Wildcat and throws a bomb to Ginn on a double reverse, or chooses to take it up the field. Wow I am pumped.

Henne is by no means out of the picture, are you kidding me? He's more a part of it than ever. I am so pumped up about this team. Parcells, what a genius. We are blessed Dolphin fans, you may be witnessing something very special. Something as innovative as the invention of the shotgun.

Dave, you have no imagination. The two safeties are beasts who will neutralize the T.O.'s and Moss' in our division and punish running backs. Grabbing White is a stroke of genius! He will add so many dimensions to an offensive that is transforming into an unpredictable and exciting bunch. Coaches will design so many options and roles for White to play. It's a tremendous draft so far.

David your a moron! I wish they would close down whatever school which gave you your degree. After reading Ireland's unfiltered comments i come to the opoinion that you make up your stories. You imply things that he did not say or sugguested. If you going to be a journalist then be one. I will never ever read any of your fictional articles again.

I think Ireland is trying to be PC when it comes to White and Henne. Even if they do compete I'd be surprised if White beat him out. I think he's more of a double-threat...a Kordell Stewart kinda guy. Something to run the Wildcat and maybe come in a play receiver a few times a game. He may well eventually be Henne's back-up once Pennington's time is through here and Beck is shipped-out of Miami.
