First Stan's TV show and now the radio. Regardless if you like Stan (and I really do) these were the only talk show sources of info on Pittsburgh sports particularly for some one who lives outside of the Pittsburgh area. Since there are so many Steeler, Pens and yes some Pirate fans across the US it is hard to believe there was not sufficent support for at least one of these programs. I will certainly miss this!!!

Hear, hear! I loved Stan and Guy, too, but for me the biggest tragedy is losing "The Drive" in the afternoon. Mike Logan was turning into my favorite sports personality in the 'Burgh. It's been called a "business decision," but like you I can't imagine how alienating the major portion of the fan base can be good business.

Very cool. I was so desperate yesterday, I actually turned on Mark Madden. I'll check out 93.7.

Yepp...93.7 The Fan (KDKA) is part the CBS conglomerate that flipped formats in several markets, calling it the Fan. Same was done in NY, Washington DC,Baltimore, et cetera. Predominantly carrying a local flavor at lower costs, with a few syndicated shows.

The fan sucks compared to espn. Who wants to listen to ron cook babble for 4 hours from 10am-2pm. If the fan was smart they would hire the espn guys and boost their numbers

I hope they do. I really thought the chemistry between the guys on "The Drive" was excellent. In particular, as I mentioned above, I loved hearing Mike Logan bring actual experience as a Steeler to the table every day (he's also really funny). Importing Stan and Guy for the lunch hour would also be a big improvement over Ron Cook.

Hey Rex, good luck today. Didn't see this good of a start for you guys but what do I know?

My Vikes are in a bit of trouble. Just goes to show you never know in this league. I wouldn't have thought it was gonna be our passing game to flounder and our pass D to be so stout, not to mention AP running so well without, do I dare say, puttin' it on the ground.

Well 30 years ago as a very young lad I loved the color purple- hence a new Viking fan was born. Do I ever wish(being from PA. and living only a couple hours from the 'burg) that it was the Stillers I would have come to root for? Then this quandry of facing the fact that the Vikes may never win the Big One and I may have to meet my maker and ask , "Why all the hate for the Vikes Big Guy?" would have never materialized? Well this was a rhetorical question anyway, and I don't know the answer, I just know that question wouldn't be on the list of things to ask-lol-enjoy THE GAME TODAY.

Hey, EVF. Yeah, I have good friend who's a Vikes fan, and he asks the same kind of metaphysical questions all the time. Man, did it hurt losing Rice. As good as Harvin is, I thought Rice last year was not only the best WR on the team, but one of the best in the NFL.

You could have been a Steeler fan, but you loved purple??? Wow did you mess up!! My father-in-law who's retired and lives in Hemet, Cal. is a huge Steeler fan so I kinda have a soft spot for Pittsburgh. Plus when I buy him stuff for Xmas, at least its Steeler merchandise. Thank goodness he doesnt like purple. The Vikes may never win the Big One

What happened to your guy last night, EVF? Did he forget to wash off the ol' KY jelly before handling the football?

Seriously, though, as a Viking, he has the perfect defense for those photos: they were really just pictures of his "Whizzinator."

We ave a black agenda at ESPN. As you will notice, we want all the clips from ALL sports to be black. Now when Ben makes a great pass to a black, it's a great catch. If a whitey makes a great block, blackie scores a great run. Now, our little messengers will be Gruden and Jaworski, members of the NAACP.

Did we lose Mike and Mike? I was under the impression WTAE was going to keep that one show. I used to like them until I realized that 1) they are totally infatuated with golf, 2) they love to gossip about sports scandal like little schoolgirls, and 3) they have no idea that hockey exists. I still like hearing their insights about football, though.

dude you've been punk'd, the guy is a white racist troll who poses as a black man and posts inflammatory crap. he is just online to get reactions from people. why? who knows. it really doesn't matter. just ignore it and it eventually goes away.
