Jeff Garcia, David Carr or Byron Leftwich in that order. Anyone of those three would have had us the two seed and playing this Sunday. Chili needs to get off his high horse and allow the future QB the luxury of audibling out of the garbage calls that come in... Draft a stud RT or RG.... Pick up TJ Hooshmazilly and Championship!!

Healthy Heath and EJ Erin with a yr undr his belt... Dump Sharper, offer Birk and Kleinsausage 1 yr vet min

I gotta agree with Justin. Garcia is old and falling apart, but the guy would fit perfectly what the Vikes are trying to accomplish. He can convert 3rd & short.

Carr looked great against out D, and I know he was terrible last year in Car, but I think he was still so gun shy from those horrible lines in Hou.

Leftwich never turned into the superstar I thought he'd be, but considering this team won 10 games with inferior QB's, Leftwich is certainly a step above what we have and would help quite a bit.

My guess is Klink goes out and gets another never-was like Bollinger and we end up with TJ as our best option. Another long season! How do you get excited for this team anymore? It's nearly impossible even after making the playoffs for the first time in a how long? That tells you a lot about the leadership! I mean really they're not even firing their Special Teams coach! What the hell!?! We're the fans. Throw us a bone!

Sure as long as he's willing to return punts & kickoffs other than that we already have two good running backs.

Give these guys time to play together so the new coaching staff has an easier job of taking over.
Priorities this draft# 1rd. OT/OG,# 2 WR/CB/FS,TRADE 3rd to Texans for Rosenthal and have an open competion for the starting job between TJ,JD Booty, Rosenthal get rid of Gus, my bet is he 's back in Stl.anyhow.

That was when he had Jake Reed, Chris Carter, Randy Moss, and Robert Smith to play with.

Okay, now where is the comprehensive list of free agent head coaches? This informational piece is a little incomplete.

Why in the world would you want to dump BOOTY?! If you're going to dump anyone that's going to be Gus! Next years QB should be a battle between T-Jack and JD Booty; that's it... Then bring in a veteran QB as the 3rd string QB...

The ONLY QB i'd like to see the vikings trade for would be Derek Anderson.

The QB is not on this list. The Vikings will do what they attempted last year. They will bring in Favre for a farewell tour and chance to rub it in on the Pukers. This will reenergize the fans and keep the house full. It also will give T-Jack another year to season under someone who knows how to win. If they are smart they also draft a QB in the first two rounds to develop (can't have too many). Booty goes to the practice squad. This year's draft will be deep with some outstanding bargains in the later rounds. Pick up offensive line, speed receiver and more help at safety.

What's the story with Todd Bouman? He was with the Viings earlier -- maybe he's got the additional experience and chops that the Vikes could use, for a reasonable price?

Todd Bouman,Wikipedia: "While with the Vikings, in a game against the Tennessee Titans, Bouman completed 21 of 31 passes for 384 yards and four touchdowns and was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week."

Looking at his resume, he sure bounced from one team to another in recent years, never seeming to find a firm spot -- why?

Losman? r u serious? He has had way more opportunity than TJ and is pure garbage. Leftwich looked solid in his brief stints with Pitt. He is smart, tough, and has something left in the tank. Garcia was a pro bowl QB a yr ago on a sorry azz team with no Offense. Gruden's Offense is the most complex while Chili is the most retarded/Give him AD,CT and BB with Hooshmazilly and he will bring home a championship. RT is a priority

indyfan. The jets have too give up two number one's if they trade far to the viqueens. That is out of the question. Also as a packer fan it would be wonderful watching brettie farve in a viqueen uniform and watch him throw thirty interceptions.

Top four on the list are Warner, Cassel, Collins and Garcia.

I wouldn't touch Derek Anderson with a ten foot pole, let alone trade for him. Too inconsistent. Have to figure that Collins and Warner will be back with their respective teams next year. Cassel will likely be franchised by New England.

Garcia? Had a rough closing month, but he's still better than any QB on our roster, plus we'd still be looking for another QB in a year or two.

One guy that intrigues me somewhat is Chris Simms. Not sure he'd be the answer, but it's been so long since he's played, most teams are likely to discard him outright. Before he got hurt, he showed some promise.

Other than that, Rosenfels, Leftwich, and Carr are crap-shoots; might work out but probably not. Patrick Ramsey used to start, but never did anything special. Just a thin, thin list for a team needing a starter next year.
