There are a lot of bear fans that are critics of angelo and lovie.
I am one of them. Maybe phillips needs to go too for keeping these bozos around so long.
The reminder that lovie to us to the superbowl 3 years ago has no legs to stand on. The reason we got there was because of a defense that all were chanting ...equal or better than the 85 bears.
Lovie fired the defensive coordinator that coached that defense. Our defense has never been the same since.
What phillips should have done is fire lovie and hire Rivera as the head coach if he was interested in getting back to the superbowl.
I now say that the problem starts higher than lovie and angelo. It starts with phillips. Phillips needs to be fired along with angelo and lovie. They don't know talent when they see it...whether it be a player or a coach.
Virginia? Are you listening? After these 3 stooges puke up the field this coming season, please fire all of them. They couldn't manage a peewee league team.

Angelo is a joke, he has no idea what he is doing. They need help at receiver and he says that Earl Bennett is the guy. I have no idea what Earl has done to warrant being the second receiver. All we know is that he couldn't get on the field last year when we had the worst receiver corp in the league but suddenly he is good enough to be the #2 guy when he wasn't good enough last year to be the 4th or 5th reciever. Unbelievable! Then we have Lovie who is as clueless as Angleo. Last year he said Bradley was his #1 reciever and then cut him. He also thinks that Marinelli can turn around his D-Line. Why? Becaus ehe coached Sapp and Rice, I could have coached those two guys and they would have done well. Look at his track record in Detroit where is team stunk. They say that he gets the best out of his players, really! Then why couldn't he get his best player in Shaun Rogers to play better or any of his D-Line to play better. What a joke of an organization. Please fire Angelo and Lovie as we do have some talent and with the right coach and drafting, we can be a good team.

I definitely support Lovie! He has done a great job, with the mediocre talent he has had to work with. Many expected the Bears to only win 5 games last year, but he got 9 wins & there could have been a few more wins in there. But I am not so sure about Angelo! He has not been aggressive to supply Lovie with top talent. He also let some guys go that we should have kept(chris harris). I think the heat should be on Angelo, not Lovie Smith..Angelo recently said that we should basically sit back & take it easy in free agency??? That lack of an aggressive attitude is what has hurt us from signing top talent in recent years! It seems like Angelo has a ego about signing top free agents. Angelo passed over several free agents last year, that we really could have used to improve us,but he did nothing. He decides to resign Fred Miller? There is a good crop in this years free agent market, but Angelo talks as if your better off to just let it play out??? Yeah, let it play out, then all the good players are gone! Then recently Angelo tried to throw Lovie under the bus,by saying the heat is on Lovie. That is B.S the heat should be on Angelo, who controls player personnel!! Angelo has alot of cap room this year,so he better get what we need & not be cheap. Give Lovie some Damn playmakers already! Mediocre players, give you Mediocre results,Jerry! Angelo said: well, free agency failed us last year when we tried to sign a few like Booker & Lloyd. Booker & Lloyd! Are you kidding me Jerry! they were mediocre at best players, because You waited, like You always do, till the good players were all gone! Angelo is a smooth talker and tries to make himself look good,by blaming others. He should be a car salesman. My eyes are on Angelo this year,to see if he finally grabs some playmakers,or goes cheap again. Go Bears!!

dear virginia,

once upon a time there was an owner who hired a president and a gm and a coach who were good. it happened that they won a championship but then each had excuses for the other to lose. then they were not good any longer. one day the owner had had enough and fired the lot of them before they could draft new players and further deplete the team. the fans rejoiced.

the end

dear virginia,

we, the fans of the bears, would like to rejoice.

Phillips is part of the problem. He offers no concrete evidence only his misguided observations of Smith and Angelo. His cliches are so old they have whiskers. Now that Grossman is gone, who else can be blamed for the decline of the team.since the last super bowl appearance. Smith, Angelo and Phillips are my nominations.

And why is Devin Hester's legacy being ruined by not returning kickoffs! Angelo, Lovie, Phillips, and Larry Mayer(their petty propaganda lacky) should all go!

Angelo and Lovie cost the Bears the Superbowl. Why take out a red hot Thomas Jones for a fumbling bust like Cedric Benson. Lovie should of been fired just for taking Devin Hester out of KR. Hester is the best return man ever to play the game. I'll give you the reason we even made it to the Superbowl that year against the Colts, besides Defense... And that was field position!

It is painfully obvious that Ted Phillips is a moron. Michael MaCaskey probably hired him after his Mommy, Virginia, fired him.

Ted Philips then brought us Angelo and his buddy Smith and Co. I see that there is enough blame to go around to all of them.

It is like having the 3 Stooges run O’Hare Airport; you know there is going to be tremendous disaster at one point or another.

Let's face it Phillips knows about as much about Football as a Martian, Not a Dhamn thing.

Too bad there is not a way to take control of the BEARS like there is in Business, a hostile takeover, removing Phillips from control of the BEARS. Then the Stooges, Angelo and Smith and friends can be fired and a new Coaching Staff hired, including a knowledgeable Offensive Coordinator and Defensive Coordinator. Then dumping the Cover 2 Defense, and the Lame Offense.

Then fill all the holes in O-line, D-Line, at Receiver, and D-Backfield can be filled via both Free agency and the Draft.

It is time for a change from the Dumb H-ass Bean counter ways.

Virginia McCaskey, What Would George Halas and Mugsy Halas say about the way this team is being run? They probably would have a sheit Fit! Too bad they are not here to straighten this tem out. Maybe they might come to you in a dream. Only one can hope!!

Hey Fred, BFD. It's just a case of one pair of dirty hands washing a couple other pairs of dirty hands. Or birds of a feather flocking together. Or whatever expression conveys the thought that this organization looks kind of like a conspiracy of happy (and RICH!) idiots plotting together. And you cheering from the sidelines makes you an accessory.

An answer to this post and some Additional Comments.

Papa Bear Halas may of been as you say cheap. But he would not of tolerated the antics of the Stooges (Michael McCaskey, Phillips, Angelo and Smith) for a minute. He would have planted his Florsheim shoe way up someone’s backside long before this. His Grandson Michael for starting this Fiasco to begin with.

Halas always put Defense above anything else. He was reported to say; if we lose to anyone we are going to make them remember they played the Bears. Usually the other team did limp away Bruised and Battered by the Bear’s Defense.

Now the only thing except for the Bears that is battered at Soldier Field is the Corn Dogs at the concession stands. Sad but true.

They need to return this Franchise back GLORY DAYS and to its once Great Tradition of Great Defense and add an average to above average Offense to the mix. Not just a Game manager.
Their Special Teams seems to be doing well. Daniel Manning seems to be doing a fine job as a return man. Toub has been doing well for a few years now as Coach of the Special Teams. He is one of the Coaches that should be retained.

The question being on Offense, will they get replacements for Tait and St.Clair that will actually be an upgrade? Will they get replacements for Booker and Lloyd at Receiver that will actually be able to run good routes, Catch the ball and come back for the ball if the have to? Receivers that know where the 1st Down markers are! Who do they get at these positions?
There has been talk about Boldin, Houz and other decent Receivers coming here. Would they actually come here and play with Kyle at QB? Would any Top Tier Receiver come here while he is at QB? If so would the Bears pay the money to get them here? Would Angelo actually pry open his wallet that far to get viable talent here? Or will he do what he said and stand pat with the talent that they have and only add from the Draft?

On Defense will they get the Pass Rush Specialist they need and the Run Stopping help they also could use? How about in the Backfield, will they move Tillman to Safety, or will they pick up a Safety and Corner in the draft? Who will they be?

Is Angelo going to sink this Team again this year? Is Angelo the P utz going to spoil another year of Bears Football?

Comments Anyone?

Here is something Different:

Let's take a poll on who the Bears should get as replacements for the open positions.

Suah as Wide Receiver and so on.

This could be interesting!

A Question?

Have you ever seen Smith get Emotional during a game or where it looks like he is even into the game at all? Every time I have ever seen him he appears to either look indifferent or like he is Lost in Space. Maybe you have seen him more animated than I have.

I wonder why he is so slow to make adjustment if he makes any at all? Does he not believe in them at all? Does he believe that the other Teams will fall for the same plays over and over? Or does he think that maybe the execution will get better after running the same play 3-4 times in a row, or twice in every series whether if they work or not?

I am not trying to pick a fight or argument; I am just seeking your thoughts.

Actually I welcome the input from anyone on this, without the sarcasm and arguments. There can be a discussion without aggression.

That is what these forums are for an exchange of Ideas.
