Chester buddy, you can have a long, long career and make a lot of money without too much hard work if you just stay right here as Adrian's backup.

Don't know how many times I've screamed at the TV to put in Chester Taylor! He delivers and definitely deserves more play time. The opponents are on to Adrian Peterson and Chester does a great job of pushing his way through.
Thank you

I didn't know the Vikings played the Denver Broncos like you wrote in your article. That's amazing.

Bpat: Learn to read before you criticize, it clearly mentions 2007:
"Taylor's patience paid off Sunday with his best rushing effort since the 2007 season finale, when he had 83 yards on 10 carries against the Denver Broncos."

#29 will not be a Viking after this season, he's too good and will demand too much cash to serve as a backup. Bummer, he's a great guy, great runner and seems like the genuine article.

chester is a great RB. hope that he stays with a contract extension to end his career here, but would totally understand him going somewhere else to be a featured back. he's getting up there, but with so few carries throughout his career he's still got plenty of mileage left in the tank.
side note to AD...notice how chester carries the ball?

'And like a savvy veteran, Taylor stayed in bounds to keep the clock running.'

Too bad Robert Smith wasn't aware of this tactic against Atlanta. Chump.

I agree about Taylor leaving town when his contract's up.

He's proven he can be a number one back, isn't going to get that chance here, and can get big money from any number of teams who aren't so fortunate as the Vikings in the RB department.

I'd guess he'll leave for the chance to start. Hope the Vikes can replace him with another player who's good at catching passes out of the backfield like Chester is.

Check out ESPN's Adam Schefter's article today:

"In Week 8 against the Saints, Falcons running back Michael Turner carried 20 times for 151 yards and one touchdown. Two weeks ago against the Saints, Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams carried 21 times for 149 yards and two touchdowns. This past Sunday, Rams running back Steven Jackson carried 26 times for 131 yards and a touchdown. So in three games, three premier running backs combined for 431 rushing yards, at an average of 6.43 yards per carry. As opportunistic as the Saints' defense has been, its 20th-ranked run defense has been spotty. For New Orleans to get where it wants this season, its run defense must improve if it harbors any hopes of slowing the Vikings' Peterson in a playoff matchup."
