Ahh, yes... The Mike Tice years! Still can't believe how many people on this very board insist that the Vikings were better off under that stiff than they are with Childress. One thing Chilly doesn't get any credit for: The Vikings were notorious for playing down to their inferior competition under both Tice and Dennis Green. Under Childress, they usually beat the teams they are expected to beat, and limit their losses to the ones who are favored to begin with. Before you try to argue that point, do the research on the Vegas lines. The Vikings were a consistent underachiever during the Green-Tice era. That's a sign of improved discipline. I'll give this team as good a chance as any to make it to 6-0 or beyond before taking their first loss.

There should also be a rule about middle aged fat chicks trying to wear the same outfit to Vikings games that they wore to their first Poison concert in 1988. ...But I'm jus' sayin'.

The Vikings (God love 'em as I do) have rarely been able to put their foot down on the neck of an opponent when they've had the chance. When the other team is down, you hold 'em down and KEEP 'em down! Green Bay should have been out of it by the 3rd quarter...but the Vikes keep the door open a crack all the time. Defensive lapses, mental mistakes and penalties, poor play selection, poor clock management and blind horsebleep luck seem to take over when the chips are down. But GO VIKES!

A 4-0 start guarantees at least 4 wins. It also guarantees an 84% probability of making the playoffs. And It guarantees that 29 other teams would like to swap positions. It sounds really good to me.

Of course I don't feel threatened, they're doofs! I'm saying act your age, act with a little class. They look like 9 year old boys dressed up for holloween for God's sake. Then they get drunk and bellow like water buffalo, unbelievable. Great example for the kids too. Don't follow the herd and be a nerd! GROW UP!

Oh, I totally agree, lots of fat cows following their fat doof men around also dressed up with those stupid beads. And for the record, I am 33, think Michele Bachmann with bigger boobs!

I agree with your campaign to beautify our statiums. Your look sounds like a good one. Perhaps you can provide visual aids.

You know, there's an even bigger story here -
Forget 2003. Think 2005, Mike Tice's last year as coach. In just over 3 full seasons, Brad Childress has almost completely turned over the whole roster. Only 9(?) players remain from the '05 end of season roster.
I remember when Wilf took over, he said he wanted a CLASSY organization, and to that end, I'd say he's done a fine job getting rid of players who made the team look bad with their off-the-field behavior and locker room drama.
As for Childress, I'm probably more patient with him than many fans here, but it's only because it's clear he's building the team that HE wants, and that tells me we won't see the whole Childress scheme in action until he's completed that transformation.
All that's left now is the real-deal, blue-chip franchise QB for the long haul. With next year's QB rich draft coming up, I'm hoping they'll do what it takes to get a shot at a top 5 prospect. They pull that off, and this team is set to compete for a championship for years to come.

For all his unimaginative play-calling, and his weird reluctance to let the Vikings get a big lead in a game, Chilly may actually be better than Denny in keeping the team focused. Let's hope our team doesn't get the big head against the Rams this weekend. Keep focusing on how Steven Jackson shredded us the last time we played the Rams, and how we want to stuff him this time. That, and spring loose the best runner in the league, who is on OUR team. Skol Vikings.

He has been here 3 yrs and keeps getting recycled QB'S.
