Vikings' chorus: A win is a win is a win ...

"Actually, they didn't so much win as the Ravens lost." You hit the nail right on the head Tom. Yes it's a win on paper but you don't win championships on paper. No matter how good you are the other guys are going to make great plays against you once in while. However, this was not a case of great plays this was poor basic tackling and coverage. Ray Rice scored untouched from the 33. How does that happen? Can winning ever be an embarrassment? I think that game gives the answer to that as a resounding YES.

So... If the Vikes won the Super Bowl under similar circomstances, would you say they should just forfeit the title?

Please. Everybody has to play the same 60 minutes, and missing a field goal is like missing tackles, missing blocks, or missing assignments. All part of the game.

They won, and whether it was pretty or not, it was legit. Perhaps Baltimore should have done a better job in the first quarter so that it didn't come down to a field goal at the end. what's the difference?

You're right the Ravens had their chance and they blew it. That's why the Vikings “didn't so much win as the Ravens lost”. It goes into the record books as a win for the Vikings only because when one team looses the other team wins, and who knows the Vikings might end up needing that win to get into the playoffs. But it sure doesn't give much of a feeling of satisfaction or confidence in their abilities like a "real" win would have.

What game did you watch, we were ahead all but like two minutes of the entire game, if that isn't domination what is?

The Viking offense soundly defeated the Raven's defense and the Viking defense held it's own until the 4th quarter. But that's exactly my point. The Viking defense collapsed and allowed the Ravens to determine the outcome of the game. How can a team be considered dominant when they allow the other team to determine the outcome?

While the Vikings secondary was soft, what worried me more was the two rushing touchdowns. Both of those TDs were off tackle right past Jared Allen. I assume, late in a game when the Vikes have the lead, Jared is in full on rush mode with no run defense responsibilities. So, where is the linebacker in run support? Why are the linebackers nosing into the line of scrimmage and getting trapped there? The Ravens were down 13 with a full six minutes left on the clock. That's way too early to ignore the run.

They were also averaging 1.1 yds. a carry with all but a couple minutes left in the 3rd qt..But anyway it's over now it's Pitt. time.
