Tom Powers: It's time to punch the Vikings' reset button and plan for next season

There are 69 comments on the TwinCities.com story from Nov 20, 2010, titled Tom Powers: It's time to punch the Vikings' reset button and plan for next season. In it, TwinCities.com reports that:

It was the ultimate embarrassment in what has been a mortifying, tawdry season. Now it has come to this: players flinging their helmets after coming off the field; Brett Favre and Darrell Bevell squabbling in plain sight; teammates screaming at each other on the sideline; and accusatory fingers being pointing everywhere.

So now Tom Powers and the other writers are the reason the Vikings suck? Wow, you Viking fans never run out of excuses or people to blame. Admit it, your team stinks and has nobody to blame but itself due to lack of coaching, dedication, and heart. No wonder the franchise is without a championship in it 50 mediocre years!

<quoted text>This group of Vikings should move to L.A.. Do the same thing the Browns did though, keep the name and colors here in Minnesota and start over.
The only problem is "loyal" Viking fans would stay away in droves for an expansion team because they are only loyal when the team is winning. Besides that, the Twin Cities would NEVER get another team if they let the Vikings go. Better get that stadium built and quickly!

Chilly's coaching reminds me of my one-game career as a basketball coach. I had been equipment manager for 4 years and overheard all the coaching, but I really was there for the bus rides and didn't know individual assignments or anything useful. I was nominated to coach the seniors vs alumni game, and the seniors were short, slow, and fairly poor shooters. The alumni had the advantage in size, strength, speed and shooting. The only thing positive I could have done was give the bench lots of playing time, and I didn't think of that nearly soon enough. I had not thought of coaching before, and I never did again. I watch the games and I'm convinced the coach knows nothing but formations, doesn't understand blocking at all, and has no idea how to defeat anyone else's schemes. Just like me.

Unfortunately for Viking fans, they really didnít know when the end came. It was actually last year with Favreís bonehead interception against the Saints. They had the best team in the NFC but that throw took a likely win on Longwellís leg and a trip to the Super Bowl away. The NFL Super Bowl window closes very quickly, so itís somewhat understandable the owner caved into Favreís old ďI think Iíll retire and cut grass in Mississippi scamĒ. But you have to give it to Favre; heís a shrewd old dog. He got out of training camp, milked the Vikings for 6-7 million more and added on to his various records for his Hall of Fame plaque.

"a game we should have won in Green Bay." Jared Allen you are not too bright are you? And you're also not very good. If the opposing team doesn't have a "G" on their helmets - you don't play worth a crap. You lost the game in GB fair and square and it was proven to you yesterday when a younger more talented better prepared for the future Packers team destroyed you in every phase. Good night now cowboy.

Hey, Bret! Since you are starting next week, GO FOR 30 INTERCEPTIONS. If you would stop texting, while playing, you would have a better chance to complete your passes.
