Its comforting to know that the Vikings will be going into next season in worse shape than they ended this season ...

I would put it on Tahi. No one runs a 3 yard out pattern on 3rd and 10 like Tahi.

Why would the Vikings try to trade for a veteran QB?
There is not a veteran on the market that will be capable of getting this team anywhere near the playoffs this year! Since this team is in rebuilding mode it would be much better off giving Webb or some rookie the valuable first hand experience that comes with playing and see what happens from there. Fans would be much more forgiving watching a young player develop with the team only winning 4 to 6 games than watching a washed up veteran from another team come in here and win 7 or 8 games.

Who honestly thought the Vikes would take a QB with the 12th pick?

They can't afford to not take the best available player at the time and that will not be a QB.

It's too bad the Vikings can't take a hint from across the border or Pittsburgh. They are models on how to run a team. Build from within; get a quarterback that has great potential and build around him. Aaron Rodgers fortunately fell into GB's lap. Continuity is a good thing, not just picking up a player for a year or two, or in Moss' case a game or two. The Vikings really set a priority in getting a good/hopefully great QB. Favre's 2009 season reflects that but you know it wasn't going to continue the next year. Band Aids can only do so much.

And no, I'm not a GB fan but a Vikings fan who would just love to see the Vikings in a Super Bowl again in my lifetime.

They have too many other positions that they need to fill... Gambling on a rookie QB in the first round would be a waste of a pick. They should draft the best players they can and grab a QB in the later rounds.

In the 50 years of drafts for the Vikings, they have taken a QB in the 1st round only once. And for all Tommy Kramer was not, at least he was a leader. Trade up, do something, but get a QB who is a talented proven leader ! Stop with yearly rental (or 2 years) of old broken down QB's. Tarkenton was a 3rd rounder. Weak arm and small, but still got a lot of mileage out of being a leader.

Sowhy not trade up for Gabbert? Or are they saying he will go after the 12th pick?

What the hell are Vikings thinking about not drafting franchise quarterback on first round ????!!!!! I'm tired of them signing "journey quarterbacks" for short period of time and look at the success other tema s build around franchise quarterbacks like Peyton Manning , Cutler , Rodgers and others ! I would be fine if they trade for Kolb and draft defense tackle to replace Pat Williams or linebacker to replace Leber or defense back to back up aging Winfield !!
