Funny, there was quite a lot of critical speculation that Jenkins was a malcontent, uninspired, serious character risk before the Jets acquired hm.

Even afterwards, much was made of the weight clauses, etc. in his Jets contract.

None of the speculation was good.
At best, the reporting was that it was a risky move based on character.

As a fan, its good to read that he's feeling renewed in NY and playing at a team MVP level...a Pro Bowl level.
In a season with a lot of new successful faces on the roster.
At 29, Jenkins could be the best acquisition of all of them if he performs at this level into his mid-30's.

Also as a fan, the parts of the article about cooking and art make me proud he's on our team.

He's renewed and the team has a solid foundation.
Sounds like he could be a experienced leader of this defense over the next few years.

"Good man. Good player. The Jets are lucky to have him."

I have so much respect for any athlete or celeb. that helps young people at risk, but why with a lot of athletes does it always have to be "inner city African Americans" why can't it just be "young Americans"?
