I'm glad for the Jets and their fans that Favre has awakened their franchise and injected some life into them. But to expect a super bowl?? Come on. Have they forgotten about a few teams called the Colts, Chargers, Steelers, Jaguars, and oh yea... the Patriots?? If they make the playoffs, I'd say its a successful season. But an aging, interception-prone QB with a weak supporting cast going against some of these incredible teams... good luck pal. Fans are just setting themselves up to be disappointed.

Yes, Brett Favre is by far the best QB the Jets had. However, as great as Favre may be, he will not take them to even a Super Bowl appearance. Making the playoffs is a strong possibility though. Every team that has won or even made it to the Super Bowl has had a dominant area about them. For the Giants, it was their defense. For the Patriots of last year and other years, it was their offense. Although Favre is a great QB, the rest of the offense is far from great. Their defense and special teams are average at best. This is a recipe for a POTENTIAL playoff team, not a Super Bowl caliber team though.

How many of you all thought that the Giants would win the superbowl one year ago? Fact is EVERY Jet fan rooted for the Giants to win the superbowl, I hope the favor is returned when the Jets beat the cowgirls this year!

As a Jets fan being used to being disappointed, I do not expect the Jets to make the Superbowl. And yes, I'm also a skeptic about Favre. However, you have no clue what you're talking about! As bad as the Jets record was last year, they had a chance to win every game but 2, and that was with an awful O line, bad D, and without a QB. They also played a very difficult schedule. I guess you have'nt payed too much attention to the Jets off season players moves. Favre's supporting cast has been greatly upgraded from last year's Jets. I'm sorry, but I don't find the Colts, Pats, Chargers, Steelers or Jags so "incredible"! I respect the Pats even though they had to resort to cheating. Belichek is a great coach and up til the last SB, they've always been a clutch team. However, those other teams mentioned have had their history of choking or under achieving every year. Chargers and Colts over the years have cost me good money with their yearly chokes. Like I said, I don't expect a Super Bowl! I'm a realistic Jets fan. But with Favre, I think this team is going to be a team that has to be reckoned with. Not a bad schedule so I can see a 10-6 or 11-5 record being possible barring injuries. Also, Pats are starting to get old so you really never know. Who the H thought last year at this time or even after their 1st 4 games that the Giants would win the SB? Nobody I know!

Also, as old as Favre is, and he's going to throw ints without a doubt, defenses will not be able to put 9 men in the box anymore against the Jets. So just his presence is going to help the offense run the ball better and be more of a threat from anywhere on the field. A 10-0 deficit will not be such a mountain to overcome anymore. With a better offense, the D does'nt have to play 45 mins a game anymore and be worn down by the 4th quarter when most of Jet's games became losses last year.
