For the last time:
Drafts have NO MEMORY. All the recent drafting and still: No starting grade WR No starting grade TE No starting grade DE No starting grade QB Drafts, like stock market prices, HAVE NO MEMORY. Just fill the holes. |

Wow! News channel 34 has on its staff the world renowned NFL guru! Avant must be right because his mentor says the vikes won't draft a QB........ |

we need some people who can get to the quarterback so our dbacks arent getting smoked so much. my god every team (even the worst) we played made us look like total chumps with their passing game. if our receivers start to actually catch the ball, we protect the qb - whoever it ends up being - Bollinger probably, and our defense holds up we should be in good shape

Its just smoke. They are working out a secret deal to get Rodgers. |

harry i made you realize we're not getting Carr or Quinn. Listen clearly, we're not trading for the robot Rodgers. What's with you and mediocre qb's? TJ's your qb, deal with it. |

Rodgers is a good move. Then some recievers and a DE.......... Think, Avant, think! |
|||
|
How do you know who is "starting grade" and who is not???
|
||||
| ||||
|
Avant knows they are good picks, because that is what the voices in his head have told him!
However Avant, just because were not drafting a QB, doesn't mean that we don't need one. If you will recall, they thought the Titanic was unsinkable - and didn't provide sufficient life boats - the rest is all history! |

Easy! DivII QB, 0-2, 2nd year........not. DEs coming off knee injuries.......not. WRs with board hands........not. TEs that always get tackled short of 1st down yardage...not. Coaches that were not allowed to call plays with previous team......not. Crappy NYJ castoff QBs.........NOT. Jeremy Shockey's backup........not. WHO IS STARTING GRADE? Look around free agency.........guys who have contributed tackles, sacks, yards, TDs........whatever it is they do........and want to be prime time and be a starter. You get what you pay for AT KEY POSITIONS. You cannot pay every player on the team top dollar....... But the Vikes need to fill a lot of holes and it will take money, not Avant's crush on TJack. |

Ok I agree on one thing, Calvin Johnson would be a top grade WR and everyone knows it. But the only way any of our receivers will see a ball is if we fix our OL. Birk and Hutch are the only ones on the line worth their salt. I would love more than anything to see us trade up to get Johnson then pick OL and next address DE to take some heat off of our secondary. As far as QB is concerned if Quinn is not around which I am sure he won’t be, I say roll with what we have. It's too late in the season to get a quality free agent player since the Vikes Org sat on its hands during free agency. I feel that Bollinger and TJ will be ok if they have protection and someone to throw to, Brooks did great until the sloth Mckinnie fell asleep and let the DE cream Brooks which put him out for the year. So at the 7th overall pick I think the Vikes should:
#1. Trade up for CJ or take Quinn if he is there. #2. OL - Joe Thomas sounds good! Kalil, Levi Brown? #3. DE - Gaines Adams! Anderson, Moss? |

Actually, Jarret is a good idea. But Avant won't allow it. Tavarus Jackson is sooooooooooooooooooo good he'll make even Klinedropper an all-pro. |

i think that klienfumbler should have been released and not wiggles. the vikes should have got a wr in free agency because trading up to get calvin is going to cost us alot. tarvaris is going to be the starting qb but for how long. if he goes out there and stinks up the joint, they better get him the hell out of there. they should draft drew tate in the fourth round, i think he is tough enough to be an excellent nfl qb. the draft is stocked with WRs so there is really no reason to give away all of our picks to get the best one.

What level of school did you complete? Your spelling certainly takes away from your comments. Your ill advised choice of words (bitches) doesn’t come across well either. If you have something to say that is constructive please do, otherwise keep your juvenile remarks to your self! |

I think we will draft another QB but it will be in or after the fourth round. There are some QB's that might turn out to be very good starting QB's such as Jeff Rowe or John? Beck. The Vikings have shown interest in some Div. II QB's and if the two mentioned QB's are gone by the fourth, they will wait until the sixth or seventh and pick one of them.
There are a lot of potentially good Wr's in the draft and the Vikings will wait until at least the second or maybe even the third round to get one; but they should get two. If the Vikings do trade down they will definitely take an Ol in the first unless a really good player for some reason keeps falling and then it beomes the BPA scenario. I used to hate the idea of taking the BPA but I have come to agree that getting quality players at almost any position will probably be a good move; except they can't just load up on Ol and DL without addressing the glaring problem at WR. If they can move down I hope they use their extra pick on a Wr and not more linemen. BTW, my slight change in philosophy doesn't mean that I have confidence in Childres or Speilman to get the right players; i'm just agreeing that we have so many needs that almost any good draft choice will probably be a starter. |
