Mike from CA makes a good point.

I could care less what QB rating Frye has, its about decision making-- what killed us last year.

And Frye has shown no improvements from what I have seen/heard

... am i saying Anderson is any better-- no but enough of this Frye love fest HE IS STILL CHARLIE FRYE

Thank you John.

Like I said.... I like Charlie. He's a local kid who's done well. Again though.... he is still making the same mistakes. I understand he has "fire" and "is a competitor". You HAVE to be at that level. If he really wanted the job that badly.... he'd be living, breathing, eating, and sleeping football. Hit the weights for one Charlie. Seriously hit the weights. Start going to the gym with the linebackers and compete with THEM. Go to fewer Cavs games and spend more time practicing with a WR or two who is local in the offseason. Talk Braylon into it. It'll help you BOTH.

“It doesn't matter how much you want. What really matters is how much you want it. The extent and complexity of the problem does not matter was much as does the willingness to solve it.”- Ralph Martson

It boils down to this Charlie.... if you really want to be starter.... and you aren't there yet.... then you need to do MORE. Ask Drew Brees what it took for him to bounce back after his injury. I live in San Diego and they covered all his work in detail here. He had to push himself harder than he ever thought he could push.

In the meantime.... I stick with my mantra.....
A player only gets so many chances in the NFL.....

Excerpt from SI.com , Monday Morning Quarterback Tuesday Edition, by Peter King.....

"BARKING UP THE WRONG QUARTERBACK TREE. From Brenda W. of Brooklyn: "Do you think the QB situation with the Browns might end up similar to the one with Drew Brees when the Chargers drafted Philip Rivers? Is Charlie Frye capable of winning and keeping the job?''

Not a chance. Brees was a two-time Heisman finalist who played a tougher college schedule at Purdue than did Frye at Akron. Brees, after the Rivers pick, had a Pro-Bowl season and led the Chargers to the playoffs, earning the undying respect of his teammates. He completed 31 of 42 throws in a gallant playoff loss to the Jets, and proved, when healthy, he's a top-tier NFL quarterback. Frye has shown nothing to this point that would indicate he's anything other than a career backup, and being pressured by the arrival of Brady Quinn won't change that."

...... Sounds like I was being downright kind to Mr. Frye earlier compared to this assessment.

Just thought I'd share a little of what is being said out there.....

Typical McManamon article - old news, repetitive and boring. Not enough money to go around at the BJ sports department for a real Browns reporter.
Heya Bill....
Just found out. Terry Pluto left the ABJ and went to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

You're gonna be stuck with Pat for a while.

I wonder if Crennel and Savage's conversations sound a bit like this....

Savage: Romeo, do you want to be a head coach?
Crennel: Don't read anything into this, but I'll go out there and play the role this week. You know I don't like to make decisions.

WTF????? Make a decision coach, our team is looking to you for leadership (unfortunately)!!!

From everything Ive read here a coin flip was the best way to settle the quarterback situation. Next week lets have one between Romeo and Savage for who is GM.

I couldnt agree with you more. Frye is the best choice. Anderson stinks and Brady is all hyoe and hasnt proven a thing in life. Go Charlie!!! And Romeo, stop being an idiot and name Charlie the starter. he earned it and the team deserves it. All you are doing in playing games and putting doubts in peoples minds. Be a man, stand up and coach. Your decisions on the QB have doen nothing but hurt and divide the team and fans.

Brady reminds me of another self absorbed QB who was drafted low in the first round but thought he was the best pick in the draft - Akili Smith.
Charges people $75 to $200 for an autograph and has yet to play a down. Sucked in the bowl games too...
I know what we get from Charlie, I watched him at Akron U for years. Go back and look at the Akron - Marshall game when Charlie beat Leftwich. The guy is a competitor. I like that at QB.
Charlie and every other QB who has been here since we came back has been put into a mess, different coaches, linemen, etc. So if anyone thinks a bad call by the QB to try and run one in will make or break the season is crazy. And any QB we put into that situation will suffer the same fate.
We need a stable supporting cast of coaches that are decisive and players who want to win before we can really tell for sure.
I just think Frye brings more to the team... a competitive fire that never quits.

And you back all this up with what?

The only part I agree with is the last part about Crennel needing to make a decision.

And you know what else?....
Go ahead. Throw in Frye.
Just don't come crying when the results come back from the first 3 games of the season. I'm going to say it now.....

I told you so.

The QB situation is still hopeless to me, I wish that they would give Josh Cribbs a long look. Also, I think that Troy Smith, and the Boise State QB are both better than Quinn, so another losing season coming up for the fans.
