what short memories you all have--rookie Kosar didn't throw a single pass all of 1985, did he? Just handed the ball to Mack and Byner...do you not understand the importance of the offensive line? In 1964 when Johnny Unitas went down, the nearly 40 year old Earl Morral came in and played as well as...Johnny Unitas...then in 1972 when Bob Griese went down, the by then nearly 50 year old Earl Morral came in and played...like Bob Grieses. Why? Because of an all-star line and receiving corp. With the current Browns line, neither John Elway nor Bart Starr could be an all-star. Making the quaterback the scapegoat here just hides the REAL problem, an owner unwilling or unable to pay for a contending team----no wonder the Sporting News ranks this team 32nd out of 32---

Correction. Earl Morral replaced John Unitas in the 1968 season. In 1964 the Cleveland Browns beat the Colts 27 - 0 in the NFL Championship. Frank Ryan was the winning quarterback. John Unitas was on the losing end of that one. In 1968 Baltimore revenged that loss with a 34-0 win against Cleveland with Earl Morral at quarterback. They would go on to lose to the New York Jets 16-7 in Super Bowl III.
