How they match up

Hobbs is competent, but he's not the coverage equal of teammate Asante Samuel, who lines up on the defensive left, where Harrison normally operates. Full Story

Your picture of Ellis Hobbs looks a lot like Dallas Clark.

Thank the Lord that Bill Polian got the rules commitee to change the 5 yard chuck rule in 2004.
That's our saving grace against this defense.

I expect to see Thomas covering Clark this year, he has the speed to stay on him.

Wayne will not be covered by Ellis Hobbes. The Patriots are to smart for that. Samuels will draw the duty of making sure that Wayne does not burn them deep. Wishful thinking boys that Clark will draw coverage from Colvin an Vrabel. He will draw coverage from the newly added linebacker Thomas, who has the same speed as Clark. If the Patriots are ablte to take Clark away from the Colts gameplan then this one will not even be close. Patriots have huge mismatches in the secondary. Cover-2 has way to many holes and it is never good to be looking in the backfield (which is what cover-2 corners do) when you are playing against potentially the fastest receiving corps in football, they will blow right by you.

I hope Marvin is a go for this game. If not I hope Aaron Moorehead is not playing. Not this game, not now. This guy does not have what it takes to effectively fill in that roll. The smart thing is to start Gonzalez and have C. Thorpe to come in off the bench. At least the Colts will get some production from that spot. How does this guy keep making this team? Zero production from Aaron last week. Or 1 catch.
I'm a Colts fan but this is one game the Colts need all hands on deck. And if Aaron does play and is effective. Then I will be the to post about it. But the truth of the matter is this. Unless it is the preseason Aaron is going to play scare. This is not the game for that. Its time to play somebody that is ready to step it up. C. Thorpe is the guy. You see what the guy can do kick-off returns this year. Keep Aaron on the bench if Marvin H. cannot go.

Neither team...nor any NFL team for that matter...can match up well with either of these air attacks...

Given the chance, we Patriots HAVE to try to run up the score. You guys can still tack on 21 in a quarter. We'll never make the mistake of feeling comfortable with a big lead again! Coach's orders!

please, the pats have been practicing all week in a dome with the speakers cranked all the way up and probably the heat up around 100 to get ready for the bush league moves bill polian and tony dungy blindsided the pats with last year. you can get the pats once like that but they WILL be ready the next time around. look at their track record in matchups after losing giant games like that. its unreal.

Come on my fellow Indy fans...this Youíre not a real Indy fan/Brady sux stuff could actually hurt us on Sunday. I think we should proceed with caution. I mean if we're asking him to kneel in the third quarter for the Fins and the Skins...what about us? If they're up by 28 on us at the half...are we asking him to politely kneel down then or the 3rd quarter or what? Hey Iím always the optimist and I'm not throwing in the towel just yet, but please don't get too crazy about us pulling this off... Indy faithful...come on...we really need to rally round each other here...we can't get goaded into bickering with each other...we've got a very important game coming up this Sunday...we may very well get our asses handed to us on the back of a NE cleat...this is crazy!

It's going to be a long day for colts fans. I hope you play better football than the writer of this column writes. Not sure if he watches football or not, but Clark will not see any linebacker but Thomas and Samuel will be locked on Wayne all day. Without Marvelous Marvin, the Colts lose by no less than 14!

That is what is driving my fellow Indy fans to make all these asinine negative comments...just plain old fear. We just don't have the fuel in the tank or the talent to match up and go full throttle for the full 60 this year. Last year, we actually had a shot at winning and were lucky to pull it out at the end. Well, I can hope that we hang in there a little while anyway.

Hey as a huge fan of the Colts...unlike most of the people "calling" themselves "REAL" fans...I just have to be realistic here. We don't possess the "quality" that we all see in the NE team. And yeah...to some degree we're very jealous...sure, but we won last year, and things change. I'm not saying that we don't have an outside/distant shot at eeking this game out...by all means we do...but let's not be too cocky here. We really need to see things realistically!!!
