The first thing Lovie Smith said when he took over the Bears, "We're going to beat the Packers!" He was very well liked in Chicago because of it, and has a winning record over the Packers.

Sadly, this season is unfolding much like last year - the only difference being that the Vikings are treading water in a fight for the NFC North title instead of the second wildcard spot. It appears that Clueless will once again guide a talented team to a .500 record and then somehow try to convince Wilf that things will be better next year. That may prove to be a tougher sell this time around as Zygi's salary cap space is gone and this team won't be a free agent player this coming offseason. The talent is there but the only way this team takes the next step is with a new head coach. The fact that Clueless can't beat Green Bay is indeed embarrassing - but it isn't surprising.

I agree with every word, my friend. Talent galore on this team and Klink just does not know how to use it. He'll find a way to mess it up, as usual. Go Vikes!!!

It's too bad Chilly doesn't have that type of attitude. That kind of mentality will go a long way with the players. That's the first step in becoming a winning organization: BELIEVING THAT YOU CAN BEAT ANYBODY, ESPECIALLY THE PACKERS! GO VIKES!!!

From the kick-**** offense to questionable choices at quarterback, Childress seemed less than willing to even discuss the issues let alone try something new. When the horse died, Brad got a bigger stick. 2. Around the bush. Sidestepping this latest question is case in point. 3. A man when he's down. Letting go of Marcus Robinson on Christmas (eve?) was a sign of weak character. Marcus was frustrated with the direction the team was taking so he spoke up after an embarrassing loss. Rather than shrug off the comments, Brad let one of our only productive touchdown threats go. 4. The odds. Hey, he's still coaching the Vikings despite the fans calling for his head on a platter. Recent polls indicate he is one of the least liked coaches in Pro Football. So, there are some things Brad Childress CAN beat. I hope that by Sunday afternoon we can add the Packers to this list. Nice, the only thing I would beg to differ is #4, where Childress IS the least liked coach in the league. I know for the players, this game is no different than any other game - rivalries mean way more to the fans. But as a fan, this is a must win game. I can't take another loss to the Packers - especially at home and with a chance to build some momentum going into the second half of the season.

Great post CT. Unfortunately for us, we still lose if in fact we do beat the Packers. It'll get us REAL close to making the playoffs and probably save Klink's job. Sometimes I think we have the worst luck of all NFL teams, ever.

After last weeks win, chilly said he graded the team as a "C" grade. I used to get C's without studying. If someone gave me 60 million, I know I would have done a lot better than "C".

So Childress side stepped the question and avoided giving the Packers bulletin board material the week of a big game. Sounds smart to me...

0-5 vs. the Packers is horrible. I would fire Childress on the spot if he loses this week. Earth to Brad: you can't go 0-6 against Green Bay. My prediction: he does. When the last time Childress won a big game?
