All the true Ravens fans please stand up!!!!! Let the starters play one quarter and then on Sept 7th you will see Ravens pride come full force and give the fans what thjey want a great season. Mike Preston and all these other writers give me a break. The Ravens will be fine and be the sleeper team of 2008 even with out QB situation.

I don't think it matters much. Where other teams seem to have organization the Ravens seemed confused. Teams win games in the NFL not individuals and right now all I see on the Ravens is at best loose group lacking uninty.

Preseason is a chance to go into the season prepared to play. I think at some point you have to put all your starters on the field to see if you are anywhere close to the right combination. The players on the other team will show what may be hidden in practice. One series in a 3 and out doesn't tell you anything it takes more time. If you don't want to play the games with any quality players, quit charging the season ticket holders for these games; make them optional.

With 16 game season, the most important thing is to gel and get better during the season. This preseason game means nothing. This team seems to be in kaos. Ozzie has a big job ahead.

I don't think Flacco should play more than the first Quarter, but I think the Tackles need the work and the Receivers (Mason aside) really need to step up and get in more reps. The D should play one or two snaps and rest, our D has proven itself since 1996, no need to worry there. I think its funny the 2nd editor uses the colts going 1-3 in preseason and then 12-4 in 2006. No duh, its called "Manning" which we don't have on this team.
Then again, this writer still has faith that Boller can be the QB we thought he'd be, if he could just keep his head in the game. |

The timing and smoothness on offense is not there and that was the problem last year in the opener. The defense with all it's injuries appears to be slow in reading and reacting.I think we're in for a long season.

Nothing like a little comic relief to start off the day. The only thing "sleeper" about the Ravens is that they'll continue to put anyone watching them TO sleep, while they claim their rightful spot among the 5 worst teams in the NFL in 2008. The other poster who said the Ravens are disorganized hit the nail on the head. From the chaotic "we've traded back in the draft; no, we're now trading up in the draft" Keystone cops adventure, to the bizarre training camp, to the signing of Casey Bramlet -- the Ravens are slowly but surely proving themselves to be little more than a sideshow act in the NFL these days. |

One game is not going to help. Decidng the cut down and avoiding injuries are the primary goals for meaningless game 4. The biggest problem tonight is Flacco having to go 60 minutes. And avoid injury.

i think flacco will have a good game tonight.he will make raven fans a little more confident

I would get all the healthy starters in as long as possible. for Gaither I'd play him the whole game or most just to get in game shape. If most of the starters are hurt why bother dress up for the game. Let the backups play as much as possible to see who is going to make the team. If Boller is hurt as bad as they say then I would put him on IR and get another QB in here soon to learn the playbook quickly. If Troy can play then let him play 3 Quarters and Flacco 1. Sounds like Bramlett knows Cam's system, then he will more likely be signed to add depth. After tonight they have to cut 22 players to get to the 53 man roster. I think most of these players will have some sort of injury. It will be interesting to see who will suit up for Sept. 7

Its a tough call. Personally given the poor attendance by starters on both sides of the ball, I am betting it will take the Ravens until 3 to 4 weeks into the regular season before they are up to par with the rest of the NFL.

I really hope when you posted the above comment, that you are either drunk out of your mind, or that you got a paycheck from the Ravens Media Relations department. There is no magical switch once the regular season starts, what you see is what you get. What no one else is figuring into the situation that with all our older veterans, how hard do you think they are going to play now seeing as though our QB situation is a mess and we have an obscene amount of injuries? |
||||
Well Harbaugh certainly has done a great job of lowering expectations. I can't recall one quote talking about how good the Ravens are. If they do well he'll look like a magican. If they suck as expected, no one will be shocked and he and Cam will be out the door in 2009/2010. |

All starters (including Flacco) for the first half. I'm tempted to even say all starters until back-to-back solid drives. We haven't seen that once this preseason.
And I know Cameron's a great OC, but what's the deal with his playcalling? Why was he running slant after slant after slant before punt? On the drive where Flacco hit a couple of them, right after that the defender just squatted on the route and waived his finger. So far, Cam has been less imaginative than Billick, just replacing quick throws to the flats with screens...in the flats. There's absolutely no fire under the front office's behind, and while I don't want to criticize bisciotti because I barely know anything about him, I will say that he needs to set something off. Somewhere along the line he figured out how to motivate folks, so why is Ozzie just lumbering along, drafting only players who are projects? The only guy Ozzie picked who will undoubtedly be a producer for our offense is Rice. Other than him, who do we KNOW will put up numbers this year? We've got project wide outs (none of whom any of us heard anything about prior to...Ozzie picking them!) and a couple safeties, one of which is gonna bump Gary Stills off of the roster. Is that what we needed? All that press coverage about two guys who can't press (not cb's) and can't beat the press (not wideouts). sofa king ridiculous. Why do we here in Baltimore only get to rant about things going wrong, while other teams can rant about things going right? Clearly, I digress. |

This is the dumbest idea I've ever heard. Why risk further injruy? Haven't we had enough? And no team does this. There are 16 more games after this one. And the next 16 actually matter. Horrible article.

Hey Edward Lee:
The Colts have a set lineup and use pre-season to find fill-ins. The Ravens need to locate a starting lineup and better pre-season than in season. Poor comparison. |

Is it just me or would that cutie Joe Flacco just look marvelous naked, on his knees in front of Brady Anderson, servicing Brady's pulsating, hard member? mmmmm
|

I agree with Ken. Keep them on the field. This offense is not ready for prime time. It needs the work. We have no idea what we have in this offensive line. I would rather find out tonight that they can't cut it rather than next week against the Bengals. And, as for McGahee, who cares? If it was me I would get rid of him with the next cut and go find a running back who actually wants to play for us. Ray Rice has earned and deserves the starting job. McGahee is exactly what everyone in Buffalo said he was. Useless!

The saving grace maybe to get chris Simms of the wire/cut list. The cast of characters list on the roster seems ill prepared to handle the job. Pennington would have served us well but the Ravens slept on that possibity as usual. Ozzie must be getting old/slow in his judgement calls. To wait this long in the process is simply ludicris at best. All those holes in this team does't look good. they have plenty of trade bait but continue to waste talent and options. Ozzie you need help making personnel decisions, plz get it ASAP.
Your past accomplishments willnot save you next year ! The handwriting is on the wall and your printing it. P.S. See if you can get Rex Grossman in a trade He would be an upgrade from the squad you have now ! |
