I for one do not care how he lights up a room or how "infectious" his personality is or how he handles the press in LA. Compared to NYC, the LA press is a bunch of pansies. He'd better be everything and a bag of chips with a football in his hand. Because of the Browns end up the year with a better record than the Jets it's gonna be a dark day in Gotham.

I'm waiting for the first weasel Jets fan to cry about losing Raitliff. The same QB who was cut two years ago and picked up by nobody.

great trade. We went from having no QB to a potential star. The players we gave up were mediocre although the picks were alot to give up. As a longtime season ticket holder I like this move.

Now the questions remain: blocking tight end? wide receiver? offensive and defensive backups?

And....those problems would've been solved with 17th & 52nd picks? Huh?

I hate the negativity and am saddened by the ones who look for the negative in every positive. It was a good move, lets enjoy it. It is only a football team after all. I named my son Matthew Edmond Thomas (he took Stephen for his confirmation name) and my daughter BridJET but their lives and mine will never be defined by the teams we cheer for. All in all. I would rather be a Mets and Jets fan then any other fan.

Bright camera video lights, thundering radio voices, splashy ink yells, welcome to NYC Sanchez. I hope he doesn't get caught up in Manhattan's wild life for the rich and famous. Many hungry women waiting for him. Outside of that, the Jets needed a strong armed quarterback who could think on his feet.

This was a no brainer move.
What did they give up that was so costly? A 17th and 52nd plus some journeymen players.

Any GM with half a brain would have done this deal. And while true there is no guarantee that ANY pick will live up to their hype. I'd rather take Sanchez's upside, then bet on two other picks not guaranteed either, at positions A LOT deeper in talent, rather then gamble on the most IMPORTANT position in sports, and let Sanchez get away.
There are plenty of TE's and WR's to go around and many standouts in the pros now were picked later in the draft anyway. Again you don't pass up a QB of his talent, for a WR or any other position on the field, when he is availablr to you. Unless you've already got one.

Here's what Mark Sanchez needs to know about being a NY Jet:

1) We hate Buffalo
2) We really hate Miami
3) We really, really hate New England

Totally agree, except I would reverse the order of precedence.

1) We really, really hate New England
2) We really hate Miami
3) We hate Buffalo

And 1 more extra. No matter how bad or good they are at the moment, we will ALWAYS hate the Raiders!

as a browns fan, right now i gotta like this trade for us. the bust factor for qb's is so big and us trading down was huge. sanchez played 1 yr and couldn't beat out booty the year before. taking qb's within the top 10 is so risky, to me its not worth it. i really think that if colt mccoy and sam bradford come out, sanchez isn't even in the same sentence as them.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Gemini

You'll need every ounce of patience today because even the best-laid plans could go up in smoke under the Full Moon lunar eclipse. It seems that certain people are doing their best to throw spanners in the works, and the more annoyed you become the more they'll goad you still further. If there's dissent in the ranks about how to spend New Year's Eve, you may decide to go your own sweet way and prove that you're an individual in your own right. But try not to let any bad feelings mar the celebrations. Have a fantastic night!
