Brett Favre traded to the Jets

The Jets have pulled off one of the most stunning trades in their history, acquiring Brett Favre from the Packers late Wednesday night. The Jets outbid the Bucs for the 38-year-old Favre, whose arrival means the departure of 32-year-old Chad Pennington.

One thing everyone needs to remember here.
The Jets suck. They won 4 games last year. Anyone who thinks selfish Brett will do anything but set this team back another two or three years from finding their QB of the future is a total f'ing retard.

High drama in packer land thats for sure, I dont think that i would what Brett as an enemy, he is a good quarterback, and does command respect, lets just see how it works out, Brett does well he will be a hero, packers do well the three stooges will be the hero. can one man make the show. it will sell tickets.
Just ask the Packers about sales now. 37% drop in august 2008. Before Brett,..team worth( forbes.com ) 125 million ,..team worth june 2007 $894 million,...I'll give you 769 million reasons why?

Favre should have retired after the '97 season (after he threw the Super Bowl against Denver). With out a strong supporting cast, Favre becomes a liability for any team.

Fortunately for the Packers, it is not their burden anymore as they have a real quarterback in Rodgers. Unfortunately for the Jets, they now have to baby-sit the overrated role player - Favre, as the Jets don't have the amazing offensive line or running backs & receivers Favre is accustomed to have carry him.

The future does not look so bright for the New York Jets. GO PACK!

There's no doubt that Favre was (and is) one of the best. But Thompson made a judgement based on principle rather than crass greed, and I admire him for it. The Packers will rise above Favrea and his ego.

Being a resident, and life long Packer fan, I invite all of you to welcome the gem of the NFL to your city, and team. Brett is a find, a wonderment, and a treasure that the management of Green Bay had no clue of, through their stubborness, and ignorance. I am now a full fledged Jets fan, as well as a weathered and disgruntled Packers fan. See you in the playoffs..........

Wow, the J-E-T-S may go 8-8 this year with Favre if he plays the whole year. It is a great trade for the Jets only giving up a possible 4th round pick, so they win on this and they will get headlines over the SB Champ Giants in Newsday & the Post. Otherwise, they will need a new QB half way through the season when Favre retires after cracking from the pressure of the NY fans and media (he thought GB was tough?). He will still be 2nd fiddle to Brady and the Pats in their own division and 3rd fiddle (QB wise) in the AFC (behind Brady & Manning). If he plays like last year, the Jets will be contenders, but will still miss the playoffs. If he plays like the couple of seasons before last year, he'll quit, I mean retire by the 10th week, leaving the Jets high and dry and without a viable starting QB.
Well, I was almost right... He retired from the pressure after the whole year and had 1 more win than I predicted. I'm almost Nostradamus!
