Unfortunatly Ratliff or Clemons will never get their shot.
With Woody trying desperately to sell his psl's he will bring in another reclamation project QB and we will be behind another year.
Most teams would try out their own players first.

If Woody and Tannenbaum are smart, they will go with what they have. And Ratliff seems to be much better than Clemens. Ratliff only played pre-season and not 1st string defenses, but he looked good and confident out there. Clemens started, although with a horrible O line, was not impressive at all. I hope the talk of getting someone like Kurt Warner goes away. We have already seen too many times what an older QB can do, or can't do.

I think that you need a few more categories for your "voting" on what the Jets should do. I don't think that they should do any of the above. I think that they should have an open competition between Brett Ratliff and Kellen Cleamons for the job. I actually like both of them, and believe that at least one of them will emerge and become a decent NFL quarterback. I don't believe that either of them has yet had a real opportunity to lead an NFL team. Kellen Cleamons has only had 8 starts in 2007, when he had no experience, and a terrible offensive line.

As far a Brett Favre is concerned, I believe that he did a good job until he got hurt late in the season. He didn't do the Jets any favors by trying to play through his injury. Still, I thank him for his efforts, and believe that it is best for the Jets to go forward without him.

Clemens is a great qb. Give him a real chance. No chance Ratliff wins the competition, but with Favre gone, the Jets need a story and a qb competition helps the local sports media. Don't fall for it. Clemens is their starting qb

Clemens has a great career at Oregon. Let's see if he can resurrect his confidence. Ratliff, and Ainge from Tenn as a project, are interesting stories as well.

I said it last year that Ratliff looked really good in the preseason. I think he's got better accuracy, better arm strength, and quicker feet then Clemens. If the jets let these two compete for the job and not go out and pick up a vet, I think Ratliff will win it easily.

I'm sure you were saying "WHO!" when Favre came into the league. And Brady, and Warner, and..should I go on, or is your pea brain getting the point.

"Wait a minute"...to hell with the idiots who post the ridiculous comments. Good come-backs though.

I agree that Ratliff can get the job done. He doesn't have to play like some savior. With a great O-line, 2 strong RB's, the ability to go down field and get off a short pass...they could a real good 'O'. The biggest concern is play-calling.

As for the 'D', I can't wait to see them play! With the attitude Rex is bringing in they'll be tough.

With the RB's and the O-line, the Jets QB only has to do an adequate job to win...in other words don't make the mistakes. Neither Kellen or Ratliff are going to be great QB's but they don't have to be.

You're a Giants fan...do you think Manning is a great QB. He's good but I don't think he's great...but they have a great team around him. He just has to stay out of trouble.

My biggest concern is the play calling on O.

...no one can be certain what their QB's will do until you see them in action during the regular season. Saying they'll suck or they'll be great is way to premature. I'm just saying I really think Ratliff has the tools to get the job done.

Did you or anyone think Tom Brady was going to be a great QB?
Yeah right, so great he fell to the sixth round after teams passed him over 198 TIMES!
Listen dou-che bag, not even NFL scouts seem to be able to know for sure who is and isn't going to be great, and since they can't I'm pretty certain that your knowledge in this area amounts to a big fat ZERO!

Np one knew Favre was going to be great coming out of college. He was supposedly so great that Atlanta traded him to Green Bay.
Point is you NEVER know what you have at ANY position until the players play and show their talent on their own.
Your obviously some high school kid who believes everything he hears from Mel Kiper on draft day, lol.
Get a clue kid. The NFL is FULL of players who unknowledgeable people like you thought would never make it.
Wake up and stop watching ESPN for ALL your sports information.

Here's a little more info for you. Your Welcome.

Joe Montana - 82nd pick in the 3rd round. Wow, he was projected to be so good, he was passed over 81 TIMES!

Kurt Warner - undrafted. Yeah this two time league MVP, SB MVP, and three time SB QB, had the guys like you so impressed out of college, that NO ONE drafted him. HMMM!

And these are great players. We're not even talking about the good players who are in the league. History has shown that the QB doesn't need to be great, just good, to win a championship.
Look at Phil Simms, a great QB, no, but good enough to win it all, absolutely.
How about Doug Williams, Mark Rypien, Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, these guys and others like them were not great QB's, but they were good enough to win it all.
On the other hand what about great QB's like Marino, and Tarkenton. They were no doubt two of the best QB's of all time, but do either of them have a ring, NOPE!

See, having a great QB doesn't guarantee sh_i-t. I bet either one of thise guys would trade in their stats for a ring instead.

The TEAM needs to be great, and the QB just needs to be good, consistent, and not make any costly mistakes. That's really all you need your QB to do if he's surrounded by playmakers. Get the ball into their hands and they'll do the rest.

You don't know what Ratliff can do. Just like you didn't know what Brady could do until he did it.
So stop being a moron already.

Jets will suck just like Ratliff.
