Actually, I'm the one who has to say "sorry" because you're misusing the term "innocent". Your post that I responded to said "He must have been innocent cause that's what the jury said." The jury did NOT proclaim him innocent, but rather "not guilty".
In our legal system, there's no such thing as an "innocent" verdict; people are found "guilty" or not "guilty." This system does not allow for a jury to declare guilt or innocence, only whether or not the prosecution has proved their case "beyond a reasonable doubt". In criminal law, a person is assumed "innocent until proven guilty". Again, a defendant does not enter a plea of "innocence" but rather "not guilty," "guilty," "no contest" or "not guilty by reason of insanity", and the prosecution must prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt. Thus, if the jury finds that prosecution did not prove the charges brought against the defendant beyond a reasonable doubt, they must acquit the defendant by declaring him/her "not guilty"
For example, in a first degree murder case, the prosecution has to prove that the defendant deliberately and with malice unlawfully caused the death of another human being. Should the defendant present a valid defense, for example that he killed the victim in self-defense, then the defendant is not innocent of homicide, but he is "not guilty" because the state did not convince the jury that the defendant acted with premeditated malice aforethought.
Or...how about Lorena Bobbit....She was found "not guilty" of all criminal charges but she wasn't innocent. She did cut off her husbands penis.
I was recently a juror in a case-- violent couple. NOBODY was "innocent." But, the defendant was not guilty, according to the letter of the law. So, we dismissed both charges.

You are the one that is making this a black and white issue by your comments, not me. Read your post again. And for your information, if you really think that O.J. is innocent, you are sicker than he is and quite pathetic, to say the least. The entire nation knows he is a murderer, with the exception of you, of course.<quoted text>
Its too late. Blacks did not make this a black and white issue. Whites called blacks thugs. Whites made negative and slanderous statements about blacks. If you note blacks made few comments. If they were like me they were sitting back and reading the comments. These comments revealed some of the the things that in the heart of some whites. This is more than about Vick. This has turned into a racial conflict. Go back and review the comments. Ask yourself who make the first derogatory statement about another race. I will allow a review it speak for itself. I like many blacks have been cautious in the things that I say. I do not categories all whites because of the statements. Why continue to categorize all blacks because of the deeds of one black. Vick's actions ae limited to Vick.

Called VICK a thug. Vick's actions reflect on no one but Vick. If anyone said otherwise, s/he is a racist troll.

After further review the first derogatory racial statement was made by Falcon Fan.

Keep in mind that racism works in many directions. Falcon Fan make a blanket accusation targeting all "non-black" people.

I agree with your message. However, you do state - "Whites called blacks thugs. Whites made negative and slanderous statements about blacks. If you note blacks made few comments." Now I will concede the fact that your probably did not mean all whites or all blacks but it is implied. The statement - most whites called blacks thugs is definitely more clear. As you state you are cautious, but no matter how you see it, when I read your statement that whites call blacks thugs, although it definitely sounds like you are grouping all whites together and you did, I know you possibly can not mean all whites, that is totally unrealistic and I for a fact know I didn't say that.

Your comments do not sound as if you are referring to this thread only but if you are, for the record, Falcon Fan brought up race first by using the term non-black. He followed that by saying if he were a non-black he would have been treated differently.

Don't you read? He's getting a REDUCED sentence. In exchange for ratting out other felons. This is a GOOD thing, for Vick, and a BAD thing for other dog fighters. He's getting treated LESS harshly than others who committed the same crimes.

Although I attempted to make clear that all whites should not lumped together, I should have been clearer. First I will apologize to whites for my failure to make myself clearer. Rather than lump all whites together which is wrong, I prefer to say some whites. Rather than lump all blacks together I prefer to say some blacks. We must avoid absolutes and the tendency to assign the attributes of one individual to the attributes of a whole race, group, etc. The races must come together. We are one. We have different likes and dislikes as one would expect.

Whatever the future holds for Michael Vick, he will be okay if he allows these crises become opportunities for growth. If he loses all of his money so what, he can always make more. Michael Vick is a 27 year old man, who has been acting as an adolescent. These events will force him to become a man and assume the responsibilities of a man. Some might say Michael Vick has lost everything but I say he has been given an opportunity to discover who Michael Vick is. An analysis of Vick's behavior will reveal his actions wee immature actions. I will not comdemn him. He is a 27 year old adolescent. Now he has been given the opportunity to become a man. I hope he will take advantage the opportunity that has been provided him.

Michael Vick is being forced to evaluate his life. He must determine what is important in life. Vick indicated that his concern was about Michael Vick and not Michael Vick, the football player as it should be. Life is more than football. He may never play football again. So what. He can move in others directions afterall life is more than football.

Some may consider me a philosopher. I am someone who believes everyone should be given an opportunity to change directions in their life. Everyone should be given the opportunity to leave some things behind while persuing others.

Vick ruined Vick's life and no one else but him. You are going into the black and white issue again and I disagree with you. Anyone, whatever color they are, be it green, orange, purpose, yellow, who commits henious acts on poor defenseless animals by torturing and hanging them would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law as these are criminal acts. You cannot go around torturing and killing animals for your own pleasure and not be prosecuted. You are in denial and do not want to face the fact that this beast brutally tortured and killed innocent and helpless animals for his enjoyment. That's a pscho case if I ever saw one and no person in their right mind could or would do to animals what he did to them for pleasure.
