Yet more bad news for Vick

Michael Vick is now likely one misstep from jail. The disgraced Atlanta Falcons quarterback tested positive for marijuana earlier this month, a violation of the conditions of his release as he awaits sentencing ... Full Story

Awaiting a trial on federal charges: admitted that he had done the crime: swears that he is a changed man: confesses that he has found religion....gets caught with a positive urinalysis for marijuana. I thnk I've finally figured it out....thats why they call marijuana D-O-P-E.......what a tangled web hes woven.

This wouldn't have happened if they wouldn't have prosecuted Vick harsher than they would a non-black man. He would have gotten by with a fine and maybe probation. Now they've ruined his life.

You are so wrong. Vick ruined Vick's life and this has nothing to do with black and white. It has to do with the brutal acts committed on animals which is a criminal act. Get your facts together and stop this nonsense about black and white. Look at O.J. and what he got away with it.

O.J. didn't get away with anything. He must have been innocent cause thats what the jury said. Quit making that a black and white thing.

You are the one that is making this a black and white issue by your comments, not me. Read your post again. And for your information, if you really think that O.J. is innocent, you are sicker than he is and quite pathetic, to say the least. The entire nation knows he is a murderer, with the exception of you, of course.

You're the one who made it black and white. I merely said "non-black", that would encompass Hispanics, Asians, American Indians, Inuits and Charmorrans according to the census bureau. Now.....who injected the "white" catergory ? You have proved my point....thanks for the assistance. Now go do the dishes.

I agree, he's totally stupid. First I thought he's barbaric and smart...now we get to find out he's barbaric and stupid.. with this set of life skills, it's going to be hard to find a decent job after prison.

Being innocent and found not guilty are two very different things.

Innocent until proven guilty is the edict of the land therefore, constitutionally, there is no guilt. You base your finding on assumption of fact when , in essence, the facts failed to justify your tacit opinion. If I were to declare you as being stupid, that would only be my opinion and would not be based on fact, thus rendering it useless. Is OJ innocent ?? Based of the rule of law he is and your opinion is just that, an opinion with no real impact ...sorry.

Pathetic. What is you point? That you can stir up an race issue and use deception in your choice of words to try to validate the behavior of your boy? Oh, I mean assist in your rants about how he has been treated differently because he is black? Really what is your point? What are you exactly trying to say or enlighten us with besides telling someone to go do the dishes? What is it? In between calling me names and belittling me, actually try to come up with something.

Well, since then, OJs never had a job. He lives well enough, because he has his pension. But, he's almost a non-entity.

Actually, I'm the one who has to say "sorry" because you're misusing the term "innocent". Your post that I responded to said "He must have been innocent cause that's what the jury said." The jury did NOT proclaim him innocent, but rather "not guilty".

In our legal system, there's no such thing as an "innocent" verdict; people are found "guilty" or not "guilty." This system does not allow for a jury to declare guilt or innocence, only whether or not the prosecution has proved their case "beyond a reasonable doubt". In criminal law, a person is assumed "innocent until proven guilty". Again, a defendant does not enter a plea of "innocence" but rather "not guilty," "guilty," "no contest" or "not guilty by reason of insanity", and the prosecution must prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt. Thus, if the jury finds that prosecution did not prove the charges brought against the defendant beyond a reasonable doubt, they must acquit the defendant by declaring him/her "not guilty"

For example, in a first degree murder case, the prosecution has to prove that the defendant deliberately and with malice unlawfully caused the death of another human being. Should the defendant present a valid defense, for example that he killed the victim in self-defense, then the defendant is not innocent of homicide, but he is "not guilty" because the state did not convince the jury that the defendant acted with premeditated malice aforethought.

Or...how about Lorena Bobbit....She was found "not guilty" of all criminal charges but she wasn't innocent. She did cut off her husbands penis.

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, is it really a duck ?? Most probably but, unfortunately, OJ got to walk because of the system. Is it a good system ? The best in the civilized world.

Oh, so you do dislike stereotypes. Crime ? Think Black involvement. Dirty dishes ? Think woman. Did I trap you ? Yup, sure did but it was only to encourage you to use restraint next time...every response doesn't have to be a knee jerk reaction to a subject. Dinner sometime ??
