Brady Quinn patiently awaiting his turn

Full story: Akron Beacon Journal

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.: Some wonder if the Browns will get a fair evaluation of backup quarterback Brady Quinn unless he plays with the first team.

Well, Quinn has his chance, starting right now. I hope Anderson is OK, but this was the best thing that could have happened to us.

Quinn will be playing with a HUGE chip on his shoulder - trying to show everyone why he should remain the starter, even after DA comes back. That will translate into wins.

As far as Cribbs - funny, after he went out with an injury, Steptoe came in with returns of 90 & 40 yards. HMM, ya think our blockers might be the real secret sauce here? lol

Quinn also gave credit to the Giants' defensive back for letting his underthrown pass slip out of his hands and right into the shocked arms of Steptoe for an unearned touchdown.
"That was a sure interception I threw, but as I was hanging my head in shame I heard the crowd groan," said Quinn. "I looked up and said 'holy sh*t did I just get the gift of the year!'"
The easy interception then went into the books as a Browns' touchdown, much to Quinn's delight.

Said Quinn, "I want to thank that Giants' DB for turning my easy interception into a cheap cheesy TD our way. Thanks dude!"

Steptoe had no catches? What touched individual wrote this? he ripped the ball from a defender and that was officially ruled as a catch. then this guy must of been taking a poo when he ran one into the end zone. he makes it sound like he had two good returns and disapeared. Give the guys some credit. i love seeing late picks step up and be noticed.

You know what - you win some, you lose some. His INT last week wasn't really deserved, so... just roll with it.

He will be a rookie and make rookie mistakes. Don't get your hopes too high.

This was no way for him to get a start. The OL played awful. Reminded me of earlier years when Couch and Frye were running for their lives. You could of put Tom Brady on those teams and get the same results.

If Quinn starts and gets the same type of play out of the OL as AD got then we have a problem because we regressed. Who could survive a beating like DA got. Couch didn't,Frye didn't and they were run out of town instead of fixing the OL. Something has to be done. The OL coach has just got to figure out ways to adjust the blocking scheme on the fly. If not well the rest of the league just figured out how to neutralize our great offense.

I hope Brady's grateful for the way I turned that interception of his into a Cleveland TD. You owe me big, bud! Especially since the Giants are probably gonna cut me now. I'm talking at least a dinner at the Olive Garden... oh and some flowers wouldn't hurt either.

Hey uh Cleveland Barks Back dude... Steptoe didn't "rip out" anything. The Giants DB' simply let an easy interception go right off his hands and into the undeserving arms of the WR.

That kind of cheap TD offends the true football fan, and makes him want to vomit. Gag!

Don't worry Brady. You will get your chance. This team is way over hyped. Prepare for a classic Clowns season -- at least the first half as Crennel teams are rarely ready for the season. By game 8 fans will be screaming for Crennel's head and chanting "Brady...Brady...Brady... " Browns will go 8-8 at the best.
