I dont know about making this move, the guy is old and coming off serious surgery... On top of all that, they will have to make room for him by dumping someone like Camarillo, or that other young guy I read about this morning, they will only be an asset to our team for years to come lining up as the 4th receiver. I say stick with Wilford, Hagan,& Ginn, and let them grow with the rest of the team...GO PHINS!!!

We're not playing for the playoffs this year as we are rebuilding, so I can't see bringing Glenn in. While his experience and mentor ship to the young bucks may prove valuable, do we really want him taking a roster spot from a rook?
We need to develop the frosh NOW and the more the merrier. And still the biggest question lingers: is he even healthy enough (knee) to play? If we sign him, I hope he comes cheap and it's a short term contract. GO PHINS! |

If their trying to improve their roster, how about signing some talented football player that aren't on IR. Oooops, forgot were talking about the phins, not a real football team.

I don't know quite what to think about this. I do like the fact that they're going to be aggressive in checking out every potential option, although the mere fact that this is even a possibility says a lot about how bereft of proven talent we are at the position. That being said, if it were to happen it would clearly be a stopgap measure until we get to next yr's draft and beyond. Rest assured, Parcells will not mortgage the future. I'm sure the following conditions would be imposed:
-- 1-yr contract (w/ possible option for a 2nd) -- League mimimum (or slightly above) salary heavy on performance incentives (games played, Rec, Yds, TD's, Playoffs, etc.) -- Contingent on passing the physical IF Glenn is healthy--and I realize that's a big "if"--it really might not be a bad thing. Either way, no one's kidding themselves that this is a long-term answer. And either way, with or without Glenn, we desperately need a WR early in next yr's draft. I do think the value of a veteran like Glenn to the young receivers is something to consider. If I'm really off the wall on this one, I'll take correction. Howie and Marionfan, what do you think? |
And, I know it's early and it's not game action, but reports I've heard so far about Ginn, Hagan, and Donald Thomas sound encouraging. We'd all breathe a lot easier if Thomas or Murphy steps up and shows the ability to round out the OL.
Incidentally, I saw that clip of Andre Goodman talking about his being on the roster at this point as a 'vote of confidence' from the regime. I want him to do well, don't get me wrong. But when I saw that i couldn't help laughing. I've got news for Andre: That 'vote of confidence' is probably more of an admission that we only had 9 draft picks this yr instead of 12 or 13 and just couldn't address everythhing they would have liked to. I'm sure the 'confidence' will last until the moment a suitable veteran hits the waiver wire a few wks from now or until next April--whichever comes first. So, good luck, Andre, but don't get too comfortable. I suggest you glance over your shoulder now and again. The same applies to everyone else in that secondary the coaches have been 'impressed with.' Let's just put it this way: There are times when necessity forces you to be 'impressed' with people who, under a different set of circumstances, you'd find much less impressive! |

If they are turning over "every rock" to find players, does that mean we could end up with somebody who crawled out from under a stone ?
If we never lost Wes Welker, we surely wouldn't need Terry Glenn, but with his history of injuries, there has to be someone else out there.
they even screw up with Parcells. |
These guys are idiots -- improve the roster -- what happened to all the talent you let go? Jason Taylor? Zach Thomas? Parcells is an idiot.
Guys, settle down a bit. IF the fins make this move it would be to get a veteran receiver in practices to teach the young guys. IF Glenn is actually completely healthy, he's still probably better than anything we currently have on the roster, so it would be a bonus if he were productive on top of teaching our very inexperienced stable of WRs. I doubt the fins would sign him to a huge contract, and if they think he can come in here and be a positive role model and teacher for our WRs at a modest price...it's a good move.

I'm a cowboys fan and I will be rooting for the dolphins but they have to bring Terry Glenn. He is worth a chance and he can help the young receivers. Besides the Miami Cowboys, I mean the Miami Dolphins have mothing to lose and alot to gain.
Let's go cowboys and dolphins. |

You must have typed this from your phone on duty at the Publix Sandwich line. 1) Zach was showing signs of concussion syndrome like Trent Green had. Let see how he does this year injury wise. He is a tough dude but time stands still for no one. Zach's salary cap hit was just too high to keep on a rebuilding team. 2) Primadonna Jason would be on this team if he wanted to be here. You don't want a player on your team who wants to be somewhere else. Plus the release of his salary cap number frees up the Tripod to get more young talent in. At this point last year CaMoron was sitting the vets on the sideline to rest them instead of getting them in shape. Is Sparano going to not coach the fourth exhibition game to let the asst. head coach do it? Another stupid CaMoron move last year, what a putz he was. One question, if Sparano was suspended or could not coach a game(s), would Tuna step in and coach the team then? |
