As predicted last week, the injury list is suddenly expanding. This is quite common place for poor performing, losing teams nearing the end of their dismal seasons.

Two reasons for this:
- Players don't want to risk a real serious injury given they are already out of the play-offs. It is no longer in their personal and career interest to take the risk.
- The successful teams have players who are aggressive, hostile, and punishing. This is especially true for linemen. The injury rates go up because the aggressive players on competitive teams are kicking the h3ll out of the wussie players on the losing teams.

Said differently, aggressive players get hurt less and aggression is certainly not something the '07 Bears possess.

Veteran players especially know to sandbag and gracefully wuss out at the end of the season.

(Note: Let's see how many Bears appear in endorsements during the off-season other than K Y Jelly commercials.)

.

This story sure doesn't say much for the quality of the Bear's coaching staff ------ especially the receiver's coach.

Your first comment regarding players not wanting to play is highly suspect. One thing players fear is not playing because of the possibility of being replaced. Most would prefer to got a shot and suit up. I agree with your other comments though.
