I guess you have not read Preston's prior articles. For instance Preston suggested a few months back that Raven's should try to hire Marvin Lewis the great coach whose team is 0-7 this season has only taken Bungles to playoff one season in his 7 seasons as a head coach. Do you think Marvin Lewis deserved the coaching job of Ravens? To top that Preston even suggested that ravens should give up 1st and 2nd draft in order to get Marvin Lewis.
Mr. Preston is a baised sports writer his got a long pattern of doing these kind of things.
He can't get over that Troy Smith is not the quarter back of Ravens. He will only point to negative plays and will never appreciate progress.
Given the fact that Flacco is a Rookie quarter back. He should expect Rookie quarter back to make mistakes this is called natural progression. He is rating Flacco in the same category as Brett Faver and Manning.
Oh well Faver had 2 int and Manning had 3 int this week.
I read all of his articles and he is wrong 90%, but I don't attribute it to his favoring black players and coaches , he is just wrong

Wow - you are delusional (or a relative) if you think his columns are always correct. I don't agree that he's racist, but to say he's always right is comical.
I've yet to read something from him I didn't agree with 100%. And no, I'm not a relative, just a realist. If you want someone to write like a homer, and ignoring the Ravens' faults, you're reading the wrong author.

Just because you agree with him 100%(which is virutally impossible unless you ARE him, doesn't make you right, or his articles spot on. He often takes an adversarial position just to stir the pot. That alone makes it impossible for him to be right 100% of the time. I think it's just a case of puppy love.

Check out the sports column at cnn sportsillustrated about Flacco. I think this is what a balanced sports writting is called. He gave Flacco A-. With a very correct analysis.

How did T-sizzle know there was no Dolphin near enough to knock the ball out of his hand before he scored on the INT??!!?
CoachJohn should put an end to that nonsensical showboating! Eventually, it will cost the Raves, and, more than likely, at the worst time.

Thje Ravens won, but I didn't think you all played that great except the defense which played at a B+ level... The QB "managed" the game.... at most I give him a C+. See this is why B'more lose against teams that play well most of the time... because you all overrate them. All ofthese A and Bs on missed opportunities and sheer luck? I mean there were 3 passes, one in the end zone, that probably should have been interceptions, but he gets a what... B- for managing the game and the luck that the DB didn''t have hands enough to catch the freaking ball?
I understand team spirit and standing behind yuour team, Please by all means do that... but overrating you team on ONE win out of 3 weeks over a mediocre team at best? A team that counted on a college set to surprise teams and win a couple of games? Sounds like you're juts setting yourselves up.
The defense played well, definitlely a B+ or whatever, but the rest of the team was a bunch of Cs... anything more is just... lies!

I love it when people try to criticize Flacco by saying "he nearly threw a pick and nearly had a fumble". I hate to break it to you but almost every NFL game every QN "nearly throws a pick and nearly fumbles". You don't see it in the box score on Monday morning because, guess what? Nearly doesn't matter, it results that count.
Dude, no way... the ball hit the defender in his gut on a TD throw. All QBs in the league didn't do that yesterday. Did all of them have bad throws, of course, but they didn't all just miss blowing the game. He got lucky, admit it. Otherwise, what skill or ability got that ball out of the miami defender's arms? NONE! See Suggs didn't drop his INT and it cost Miami... they did and it didn't cost Flacco and the Ravens... you all ARE seeking to annoint Flacco too early.

Right now, Flacco's the 29th rated QB in the league... behind other first year starters... so what do you have to say NOW!!!

For 2 weeks in a row the Ravens defense , despite only giving up 13 pts. did not look good especially on pasing downs. The Dolphins got first down yardage whenever they needed it and if Pennington had a stronger more accurate arm he could have looked like Manning yesterday. Absolutely no pass rush 2 weeks in a row, I could have shredded the Rvaens defense yesterday and I am 55 yrs. old. Chad had all day to throw!
What NFL team did you play for and how long ago did you retire? When Smith and Boller went down you should have showed up at the Ravens' practice facility. I bet you would have been suited up on the sidelines the last six games helping coach Flacco and ready to go in if needed. Heck, maybe you would have won the starting job and we would be 6 & 0 right now.

When it comes to defense points allowed is the big measuring stick. Everything else is fluff. Bend but don't break. The Ravens' pass rush isn't great but it is not non-existent either. We did have 1 sack yesterday and pressure on the QB lead to Suggs interception/TD.

The next time you are in a bar at 2:00 am and you see McAlister there, tell him to get home or you will be playing in his spot the next day.

At 55 I have to think your skills may have deteriorated a little and you may have lost a step or two, but you have a great attitude.

Dude, maybe you can read Mason's take on that... "According to Mason, he was supposed to be in the spot where Flacco threw the near interception. Mason was trying to draw Mark Clayton's defender closer to him, which forced him to be out of position."

So, dude, you're wrong.

Flacco almost threw another INT and he had a fumble that was blown dead; he did OK, beter than last week! Again, new WRs will not make Flacco better, only Flacco can help himself become better and he made a step in that right direction yesterday.

Its already been said by a number of people, but I'll add my two cents just for the sake of piling on. Only 1 lost fumble today (McGahee) and the botched handoff, probably McGahee's bad as well. Can we get just a little, tiny bit of love for Flacco...not too much now, but just a little (first road win, no TOs, engineered 4 scoring drives of over 50 yards). How about a little accentuate the positive, people.
Maybe Mike Preston thinks that Boller is still the quarterback. Too many cheeseburgers have made him delusional.

I love reading the comments from people calling Mike a racist. Please, it's getting old now. His columns have always been spot on, and if you can't deal with honesty, then you're reading the wrong author. As soon as we win a game, and our QB threw a whopping 1 TD pass, you want to put him up on a pedestal with a golden crown.
Unfortunately, the team I love is still mediocre, and our QBs have always paled in comparison to what I would consider to be the NFL's elite. Preston's grades are a comparison to QBs that throw for 300+ yards and 2 TD's nearly every week. When's the last time we did something like that? Stop trying to glorify Joe simply because he didn't lose the game for us this week. He will get better, that's for sure, but he's not worthy of an A on anyone's report card.
So, let me get this straight. Joe is palling in comparison to Peyton and co. Regardless that Payton threw 5 ints. and no TD's in his first 2 pro games. And Troy Aikman threw 2 td's and 7 picks in his first 5 games. And despite Brett throwing something like 28 int's just 3 or 4 yrs ago. Good God, Joe, quit now while you can still save yourself!! Please, These guys have several years of experience while Flacco has 6 games. You and Preston should get together for coffee or something and maybe between the two of you, you can come up with more reasons not to grade Joe at least fairly. As for the race thing, ignorence knows no color.

What happened to the "King of Mirth" FireTrembley? He predicted a big win for the Dolphins. Guess he's out walking his pet rat.
Mike, the public is game-on about this article. Maybe you and Fire Trembley should get together.
