Looks like the pats are so used to deception that they have created this whole story. Apparantly they realize that the Giants are a real threat. Obviously they have to now use deception to try to beat the G-men! Fitting finale for a team that started the season with the Spygate scandal!
It leaves me with a bad taste and I am not even a Giants fan. In fact I used to be a Pats fan - but no longer!

There are 7 days until this year's Super Bowl as I write this and the papers are still filled with the rumor that Tom Brady's foot is in a walking cast. There is even a video on the internet showing the QB limping outside of his girl friend Gisele Bundchen's apartment. Are we sure the limp was caused on the football field?
Nevertheless the possibility that he could be injured and not able to play up to his record breaking abilities is both a shame and a tempting thought to New York Giant and Miami Dolphin fans.
However before printing up the 18 & 1 signs and featuring Eli in the "I'm going to Disney ad" there is one very important point to remember. Football is filled with strategy and "psyche you out" mental games.
The Pats are obviously hoping that the Giants will prepare for the game with an eye toward a back-up QB and not work as hard because they think Brady will be a spectator. Then at game time Willis Reed, I mean Tom Brady will come running onto the field and do a head flip. The game will essentially be over and Bellichik will smile a quiet 'gotcha.'
If the Jints are smart, and contrary to many people's beliefs included mine they seem to be then they should prepare hard and expect a Brady at 110%. Injuries are never as bad when the championship is on the line. And let's face it, even if he is a little hurt he has entire Spring and half a Summer to enjoy recuperating.

This won't pysch the Giants out. They'll prepare for Brady and only Brady. Not the back ups. Belichek is playing this game because Vegas oddsmakers have made the Pats the biggest favorite in SB history. He knows the Giants have been feeding off of the lack of respect given to them throughout the playoffs. He's just trying to bring the line down to give the Giants less fuel for their fire.

Who cares which team wins?

Its just a bunch of players from other towns and states brought together to play football.

Why live your lives through whether or not a football team wins or loses? It don't make you something you are not either way.

You don't have anything to do with it win or lose.

I totally agree with you and isn't it great that not everyone feels the same way?
I am sure, or rather I hope that you have something in your life that you find interesting enough to care about and if so try to see how football fans feel about their interest.
Naturally fans get nothing out of a victory except possibly higher ticket prices next year but that doesn't matter here and now.
Up until game time and soon thereafter I will go back to caring about things like who the next president will be and how to survive the terrible economic outlook caused by the idiot in charge now but for a week or so isn't it great to live vicariously through a bunch of guys you rooted for all year? I think so and if you do not, well pick out a good movie to rent for next Sunday and enjoy. That's what is great about America.
