Its a good thing this year's schedule is full of patsies, so they can hide how bad this team is behind a winning record. The Canes are finished as a football power.

I can't tell you how enraged I was when the cameras went up to the booth where Nix was seated, only to show him laughing with a smug look on his face after he called yet another unimaginative three-and-out. This guy has to be the least creative, least enabling, most predictable coordinator I've ever seen. Did he think he was really going to catch the sooners on the 7th quarterback draw? We have some athletes in there at receiver. Give them a chance to get the ball! Open it up! How do you expect James or Cooper to be able to successfully pull of the draw when you have not tested the secondary whatsoever? This man needs to go. He's not even good at LOOKING like he cares.

You know nothing about football if you think we have athletes at WR. It's shocking that you would even compare Lance Leggett with Michael Irvin. Shocking. This team is bad because of a lack of talent. Period. And unfortunately it's going to take a few years for Shannon to fix that.

Clearly manhandled by a better team but MAN, please, please, don't tell me that we are going to have another one of those seasons were the "IT IS A CANE THING AND THE REST OF US DON'T UNDERSTAND" with penalties and unbelievably crucial moments. Not just penalties but stupid brainless defeatist penalties.

It would have taken perfection for the Canes to even be close to this team and the penalty with the hit out of bounds on what was going to be a 3rd down play when the game was still being contested was the biggest play of the game ... and later on, not as meaningful but worrisome were a couple of other penalties for holding on a fair catch in the end zone and that block in the back that nullified the 52 yard run, well, that showed me that this team is still much like the Canes of some years that resorted to making those kinds of mental mistakes thinking that they have a right to do so because THEY ARE THE CANES.

And of course, the UM still has no Quarterback, apparently. That position that was the strength of the team, well, what a mess it has that become. Miami, the town where Marino and a good number of UM QB's used to make this town proud of that position has now become the land of ineptness at QB both at the UM … and in the Dolphins even worse.
Thanks, Coker, Wannstedt, Spielman and the King of Alabama, Nick the Slick. Great recruiting and managing of personnel back there.

Unless MR. Shannon makes it so tough on the penalty makers of the UM, such as sitting them down for the rest of the game or suspending them, this team showed today that they can and will resort to that kind of brainless play and behavior when confronted with a difficult challenge. The block in the back was just that, let me kill this guy in the back because they have whipped us up to now and the same for the big hit out of bounds on the Oklahoma Quarterback.

Sure the Canes defense was not up to the Oklahoma offense but remember that if the UM QB's and offensive team does not score and do things this year, you will have a repeat of last year's efforts when the UM defense stayed out on the field most of the games because it was Kyle Wright 3 and out over and over again. If these 2 QB's can not do different this year, then the defense will never be able stay out on the field that long without cracking and crumbling.

Rat Boy - Who was comparing Legget to Irvin? Are you nuts? Stop blaming our ineptitude on inferior talent. what a joke. Are you telling me that Sam Shields and Ryan Hill have not been miss managed? This is a play-calling issue. For example, remember the 2004 University of Utah team. They rolled through every opponent to ultimately finish an undefeated season in a fiesta bowl blowout. There isn't a single person who could tell you one of those receiver's names, yet they were unstoppable. The U has speed, they simply haven't had a chance to use it with the ridiculous plays being called. Draw, Draw, Screen, Draw, Kirby running into the line, Draw, Kirby sacked, Screen. It's mind-numbing.

No talent,no heart,no coach.Wright was keeping the sooners off the field-so what does the coach put back in Freeman. The receivers play scared can't catch and the d-fence got tired.canes will never return to the old canes so watch the Fins get their asses kicked today.

U'll be back. With a vengeance! It took 18 plays and two crucial penalties against the W's to score your only touchdown. That isn't playcalling's fault; that is personnel. On both sides of the ball.

Bring back Wright. Freeman has never impressed me. It looked like the teams responds better to him and he seems to have more confidence out there. I hang this loss on the coaching staff!

Miami needs to schedule easy teams until they learn how to play football again. Are there any high school teams in Dade county they could practice against in the off season?

Shannon shouldn't get a free pass. He made some pretty bad blunders. The biggest is in personnel. Kirby Freeman is horrible! I'll admit Wright ain't the cats pajamas but he is a lot better than Freeman. With Freeman we are ONE dimensional on offense - no passing game, and thats probably what Nix was laughing at: Shannons desicion to play Freeman over Wright which totally handcuffs Nix AND the Canes.

The sooner(no pun) Paul Dee is gone and we get a REAL A.D., one who knows a little bit about fb hopefully, then we can start a coach search because I don't think Shannon has what it takes and he proved it by naming Freeman the starter, and then going back to him when it is obvious he stinks.
