The two calls, interference on Keiaho at the end of the game and no interferenceon the interception from Harrison early was the difference in the game. However the Colts will have to improve on both sides of the ball to turn things around. The defense needs big plays ,sacks or interceptions and the offense can't go three and out. Still they are my team and I am proud of the heart and effort
they give.

The refs should have been looking when they didn't make a couple calls on Jacksonville. I think they(Refs) made 3 big mistakes in this game and the Colts paid for them.

i am a high school basketball referee and i can tell you calls will be missed for both sides. Ask why would referees try to sabotage a game. There are 22 big fast athletes going full speed you can't see it all. The speed of the game is impossible for you to fathom unless you are down there. I can tell you from basketball that you have to process what you saw and decide if it was an infraction all with in a second. You should try to ref and you will have a different perspective i promise you this. The colts lost cause they could not stop the run. not because of a few missed calls.

I agree. The ref's job is very difficult. This, however, doesn't exclude the fact that games are altered by bad calls (or no-calls).

.
The colts lost because they could not stop the run. Not because of a few missed calls.
The Colts lost because on Indy's last drive they didn't use enough of the clock.

The Colts lost because the interference call on Keiaho in the Jags last series extended the game.

The Colts lost because they couldn't stop THE SEVEN CONSECUTIVE PASSES in the Jags last series that moved the ball from the Jags 20 yard line to the Colts' 33 yard line.

The Colts lost because Scobee kicked a clutch 51 yard FG.

The Colts lost for a lot of reasons, not just because they had dfifficulty with the run. That made life more difficult than necessary, but the Colts still should have won that game.

have to agree with you.I used to umpire baseball games and calling balls and strikes is a heck of alot easier sitting on your couch at home.In an NFL football game you have to realize that you could probably call a penalty on every play if you were to follow the rule book to a tee.Yes officials calls sometimes influence the outcme of games, but teams that put themselves in a position for one play to determine a game are going to lose more often than they win, with or without bad ref calls.

Almost all games are influenced by one or two major events that change the course of the game.

You, also, contradict yourself. In one breath you say "you could probably call a penalty on every play" then you say "teams that put themselves in a position for one play to determine a game are going to lose more often than they win".

If a ref decides to call a game very close he can ensure the game comes down to one play and alter the game to such a great degree that the team(s) no longer control their own fate. There is no way to avoid a "litigous" ref (or a bad one)other than to play a perfect game, and we know that doesn't happen.

I'm not saying that's what happened to the Colts. I've already listed the reasons why I think they lost. I'm just saying close games happen, and to have a ref determine the outcome because of a mistake (ala the Denver-Chargers 9/14 game) is, what I would hope, refs strive to avoid.

My two thoughts on the Colts-Jags game from Sunday. 1) The Colts can't stop the run and lay back too much on the pass. 2) Why did the Colts pass two times on the 2-yard line at the end of the game? Use the clock more and give the Jags less time to get into field goal range.

Colts lose one more and most of their bandwagon fans are going to go dig their green bay or cowboys jerseys out of the attic.
