I would stay away from WR Keenan Allen, he ran a 4.75 40 yard dash. the last thing the vikes need is a guy with knee problems. I hear Childs is coming back from last year injurys anyway. I think if Patterson is gone the Vikes should take WR Justin Hunter & not hold off to the second or third round to pick a receiver. I hope the vikes are thinking of a receiver, If their not I see the same problem they had last season with defenses keying in on Jennings like they did with Harvin with no other receiver to take the pressure off.

Try doing a little research before you post. Justin Hunter has also had a knee injury.

I've watch a lot of Keenan Allen video and he's very athletic he makes people miss they say he's a 4.5 40 when healthy. He looks like a bigger more athletic Anquan Boldin. Justin Hunter looks good also but he's going to take more time. The top 2 receivers will be gone when we pick.

Allen, Hunter are coming off knee injuries Like Childs. That could scare us away from them.

This could be true if Ponder does what most people don't think he can do. Be More than a game manager.

We are building a good team.

I did do my resarch. unlike Allen, Hunter still runs a 4.36 40 yard dash & that was at the combine after his injury. Allen played good in college but Allen isn't a burner that has that breakaway speed that you like to in a wideout in the NFL. The Vikings roster is full of wideouts that couldn't separate from the defender like Allen so why waste a first round pick on one.

Yes both Allen & Hunter is coming off injuries but Hunter is well now where as Allen still is slow. The question now is will Allen be able to start the season. Hunter is raw & does need time to develop but you would have to put in more time with the development of Allen in hopes he can return to the player he once was. Allen has had the same time heal as Hunter yet Hunter was able to come out & run a 4.36 40 & looked strong at the combine where as Allen has lost what speed he had & he still cant jump. I want a receiver that can separate from the defender, If you have one that can't you have the Vikings roster last season.

There isn't anything wrong with a QB that is a game manager . Look at Troy Aikman, who won three Super Bowls and one Super Bowl MVP. Did you know he was a game manager? It's true. Aikman is not among the Top 20 NFL QBs is passing yards, touchdowns or even passer rating. He sported a career rating of 81.6, and only once threw for more than 20 touchdowns in a season. Aikman was not a quarterback who was dominating the game. His ability to play smart football, coupled with Emmitt Smith running the ball and a top-rated defense created a dynasty in the 90s. Does this sound familiar Peterson & Ponder with about the same passer rating as Aikman..
Phil Simms won a Super Bowl with the Giants in 1986 in a year he threw for more interceptions (22) than touchdowns (21). His passer rating that year was 74.6, and his completion percentage was 55.6. Yet, Simms went on to win the Super Bowl MVP by "managing" to go the entire post-season without a pick. Jim McMahon was an iconic part of an iconic 1985 Bears team that won the trophy. He only threw for 15 touchdowns and 11 interceptions that season, but was a great compliment to Walter Payton and the fearsome Bears defense. Notice a trend?

I read Hunters analysis. One of the down-sides was inconsistent when making completed catches, no thanks, the Vikes already tried a speedster that couldnt catch...his name was Troy Williamson. If a good route running, big, tall, outside the numbers receiver (and not afraid to go over the middle) is available in the first, then take him. Otherwise, use the two first rounders on defense. And please dont get another un-needed slot receiver( Austin )
