I think kiffen is a decent coach, but he's passed up on too many oppurtunities such as:

1. Not signing Simeon Rice and letting the colts get him.
2. Let Culpepper start. He's the best we got for now, then u can bring in russell in the last 2 or 3 games.
3. BEing too conservative with the passing game!(this is a west coast offense, take some deep shots down field with daunte)
4. He should have never signed Mike Williams! He's a good-for-nothing underacheiver!

Quarterback Grade D-: Drafting Jamarcus Russell is the only thing that keeps them from getting an F. Josh McCown and Daunte Culpepper have not done anything all year. Culpepper had one good game, but it was not good enough.

Running back Grade C: Justin Griffith was a good addition at fullback. Lamont Jordan was off to a good start but after his injury agains Miami, he hasn't been the same. Justin Fargas has stepped up, but hasn't been as effective. Dominic Rhodes has been a non factor all year. Michael Bush is expected to be very talented, but he's been on the PUP list all year.

Tight End Grade B-: I had to cut Zach Miller some slack due to bad performances by the quarterbacks. A lot of our draft picks this year were supposed to be pieces for the future and so far he's the only one contributing

Wide Receiver Grade F: Jerry Porter has not been the same as he was prior to last year's clash with Art Shell. Ronald Curry has dropped a lot of passes and that is not like him. Mike Williams dropped a lot of critical ones that could've helped us win some games and was cut. Johnnie Lee Higgins hasn't been a factor in the receiving game and Tim Dwight hasn't been there long enough to really criticize.

Offensive line Grade C: Cooper Carlisle was a good addition at Right Guard. Robert Gallery seems to have found a home at left guard. Cornell Green has been decent at Right tackle, but he might not be there long if Mario Henderson develops well. This may be Barry Sims's last year at left tackle and Jeremy Newberry has made a lot of stupid mistakes that Jake Grove would not have made.

Defensive line Grade B-: Derrick Burgess is not playing with pro bowl caliber. Warren Sapp has slowed down way too much. Gerrard Warren was a good aquisition but has battled injuries. Tommy Kelly was the only one playing with good consistancy, but is now on IR. Terdell Sands has not played to expectations this year after being awarded a big contract but has been a factor. Chris Clemmons has contributed off the bench. Tyler Brayton never quits when he's in. Jay Richardson is trying hard.

Linebackers Grade A+: Tom Howard has 4 INTs this season and 2 TDs. Kirk Morrison has established himself as the MLB with a few INTs and a sack. Robert Thomas has done well stepping in for Sam Williams and has actually been named the starter now. Morrison and Howard are the teams leading tacklers and are the best players on the team.

Secondary Grade D: Nnamdi Asomugha has shut down receivers, but doesn't have the numbers to show for it because of lack of balls thrown his way. Washington has breakaway speed, but seems to lack ability to make big plays and lost his job to Stanford Routt who has 3 INTs this year. Stuart Schweigert's tackling ability was starting to get questioned, but he has stepped his game up the last few weeks. Michael Huff is getting better, but has yet to make a major impact.

Special Teams Grade C+: Shane Lechler continues to be one of the greatest punters ever in the NFL. Chris Carr is now the all time Raider leader in Kick off Return yardage, but Johnnie Lee Higgins has fumbled a few punt returns and Sebastian Janikowski has missed a lot of critical field goals and brought the grade way down. Coverage has improved greatly since Jarrod Cooper has returned.

I WOULD AGREE WITH ALL BUT ONE AND THATS THE O-LINE. I GIVE THEM AN D- DUE TO KILLING DRIVES WITH SILLY PENALTIES. WE CAN RUN THE F*&K OUT OF THE BALL BUT WE CANT WHEN THE O-LINE MAKES PENALTIES. D- FROM ME. OTHER THAN THAT GOOD ON THE REST. WHAT ABOUT WASHINGTON AT A RETURNER SPOT. TRY IT IN PRACTICE AND SEE. WITH HIS CRAZY SPEED.

I hadn't even thought about that. I think Chris Carr would be able to start at a corner if he wasn't so tied up on returns.

I probably should've given them a D, but Carlisle and Green have been doing well and Gallery is getting better at guard. I still don't agree with Newberry starting ahead of Grove especially after making two bad snaps this year. Sims is the most penalized on the team and makes the whole line look bad.

i'll give them a D instead of a D- the right side is doing good but our left side sucks.

2-7. Offense is a mess. Defense is/was way overrated. My grade - G ! F is to good for them. Would have been H but Janikowski hasn't raped anyone lately. A little progress has been made after all.

Expectations for the Raiders this year were out of
proportion for a rebuilding team. I didn't expect the
Raiders to get into the playoffs. Just win baby is the
eternal creed that is never forgotten, but we've taken
the first steps towards a playoff team, and the first
steps have got to be taken.
We hadn't taken those steps until Kiffin and his crew
arrived. Will next year be a playoff year? Can't say,
but Russell will be at the helm, and I reckon the offensive
line will improve, as it improved this year over last.
Nothing much has been said about the Special Teams,
but they've been playing pretty good lately. We're deep
at halfback and with a slight improvement at the OL, the
running game will fourish. Don't know what to think about
the WRs. Is it a matter of not enough time to get in the open?
Next year, they'll be 3 QBs in all likelihood on the roster instead
of 4, so the Raiders will have room for a proven WR, or two
hopefully before training camp. As with every game, if
the Raiders don't shoot themselves in the foot, they'll
beat the Vikes.
