I don't think it matters. I've seen stats that show the Packer offense is equally productive with and without Finley in the lineup. The statistical analysis shows only slight differences and there are as many that are slightly better without him as with him. Based on his experience alone you would expect production to be greater with him on the field. However, that isn't the case. What difference does it make if his role changes? It's probably a good thing.

I found 7.5M in cap space if we need it! Tom Crabtree is light years better blocker,DJ Williams gets the job done offensively and neither drop the darn ball like Finley does,Hopefully his role does drop and we can trade him somewhere, although he does have 2 or 3 good games a year but..
Dont forget,we won a SB the year he was on IR,hopefully enough said.Potential label can only go so far.

I thought Finley's deal was back loaded. I heard he counted less han 6 million against the cap this season. If true, doesnt that mean that he will count over 9 million against the cap next season? Based on that, I think the Packers should cut him if necessary. It's 9 million wasted if they don't! Why pay over 9 million dollars for the same poduction as when he doesn't play?

Alls i know is he signed a 2 yr 15M deal and thats about 5M to much, but yea, id try to unload him for something but if you cant trade, they have a decision to make.Keep him or let him go by cutting him.

I could do that for $15M...for another $10M I can play a little D and watch WR's run by me too...
