I disagree with your assessment of Chad Henne not being able to carry a team. Chad was dealing with injuries much of last season. Despite that, in an away game against Illinois, he shook off injuries to come back into the game and lead the Wolverines to a come from behind victory against the Illini (27-17). When he was finally healthy in the Capital One Bowl, Chad was a dominant leader in Michigan's win over Florida (41-35). He then capped off his college career with an MVP performance (North Offensive MVP) in the Senior Bowl. I think he definitely deserves a look by the Ravens.

Flacco orginally went to Pitt. Where he apperantly tired of there coach just as so many of his pro players did a few years ago. So this kid was a top college prospect not a division 2. The kid has already showed guts and came out on top. Big, tough - sounds good.

Here is a unique idea. If the QB the Ravens want won't be there at 8 and neither a CB or OL or anyone else is worthy of the 8 pick, sounds like the best move in the first round is to trade out of it and get some additional picks in the second and third rounds.

whom ever Ozzie picks it will certainly an intriguiging choice. His uncanning knack for snatching up allpro talent is unmatched . As for the incumbents not one shows the potential to bring the Ravens to the top. Mc Nair is past his prime ,as for Smith he lacks the allround talent, and Boller problem seems to be his own lack of confidence which carries over to his team mates.

I think that the ravens should draft the guy from Delaware he seem to be amoung the best of the lot. you have a lot of quarterback go to the big name school get the pros and bacome a bust, then you have the small school guys come in an blow the league up an become all-pros. I have seen little of Joe Flacco but what I have seen he seem to fit the Raven's way of playing football tough, strong, smart and with time could your next star qb in ther NFL. Yes we as Baltimorean want that star or superstar QB to lead this to the superbowl and let the defence really do there thing and show theNFL and the rest of theworld the this the best damn in the NFL ( oh yea Tell that other comissioner we got muesem and a football team )( SUPER BOWL CHAMP XXXV )

We need a corner first, then a quarterback. Either Flacco or Henne would be a good choice. Just hope one of them is available when we pick in the second round.

You can argue that leaving Pitt makes him look like he can't take competition. Brady sat behinnd Chad Henson for a lot of his time at Michigian. Of course, Henson is now out of the league. The guy Flacco couldn't beat out where is he now?
Flacco could be the next Big Ben or the next Ryan Leaf (actually he reminds me of a bigger Boller).
Lots of "experts" would have taken Leaf over Manning that year.
How much the Ravens rely on the draft to solve their QB problem depends on how far they feel they can go this year. Its the same old story. I'd rather they use the draft to shore up some other less publicized problem areas. Drafting QB's is such a crapshoot especially this year.

They should draft the guy from Vitalis so owner Biscotti's hair will stay perfect throughout the season. In the second round take a QB. GO RAVENS

Ozzie makes all this speculation frustrating because he follows his board and drafts best available regardless of position. If a QB is not the best player left on his board when the second pick comes around, it will not be a QB.

"Kyle Boller set them back, what, how long has he been with the team, five years?"

Five years and then some no question about it.

I think we should give Troy Smith a shot this year. If he doesn't work, then draft someone next year.

The Ravens should trade down and pick up a lower 1st rounder and at least another 2nd round pick if not more.

Injuries are issues with Henne and Brohm. Flacco is the the only one of the three that doesn't have that issue. I have watched some game film of Flacco and he reminds of Ben Roslisberger but with better pocket presence. If the Ravens traded down to a lower 1st round pick and took Flacco and then took a Cornerback in the 2nd, it wouldn't be bad. I think Brohm and Henne are too risky because of their injury history.

While I would like to see the Ravens trade out of the 8th pick for an additional 2nd or 3rd, other teams may not believe that the players left on the board are worth the 8th pick either. Based on the players at the top of the draft probably the top CB will be available but like Preston says Ozzie doesn't think that player is worth the 8th pick either. Unless something strange happens with the teams picking in front of us it looks we will be getting the top CB in the draft which is not a bad thing.

ozzie should take the best available player but he never does. clady will probably be the best available when we draft. i doubt we will pick him but i really wouldnt mind if we did. we are really weakest at offensive line and corner with qb 3rd. unless someone has a pre-existing condition, injuries has zero to do with drafting a qb. anybody could get hurt especially behind our o-line. it might not be a bad idea to wait until the 3rd round (supplemental pick for losing AD)to pick a qb especially if flacco isnt there by pick 38. i have soured on johnson though after seeing his lame arm at the combines.

I would get either Jake long or Ryan Claddy or Vernon Gholston from Ohio state either, we need a left tackle like J.O., If Long falls past the Rams at 2nd I would trade up or wait to see if he’s there at 8, he can start right away, as much as we need a QB or CB, I would definitely take long or claddy.. gholston is an animal and with T.price getting old we need someone next to Buddy lee and Haloti….In the 2nd I would take Chad Henne, He’s a mold of Big Ben, and it’s tougher to play in Michigan then in Delaware. In the 3rd round we need to pick the CB best available. 4th round we should get a speedy running back to come in and help out Willis Mcghaee
