Well, the team had better be ready with that franchise tag and hope nobody else needs it, because - despite last season, which sucked for everyone - Suggs is a hell of a player and we need him.

I just hope we don't wind up losing him. I don't know what happened and why we didn't sign him this time around, but it wasn't a very wise move.

I would add that this is infinitely more important than that ridiculous debate over Brett Favre potentially coming here.

Suggs wants out... duuuh!! Beyond the money, we're a franchise on the decline, and besides, Suggs would prefer to play on the west coast, he was even quoted a while ago saying that he wouldn't mind playing for the cardinals, or somehwere closer to where he played college ball. Though, in contrast, everyone does have a price and by not giving him an offer he couldnt refuse by the deadline, he's as good as gone, and if you were gonna let him go, why didn't you trade him??? i understand that people still have illusions of signing him after the season so they'll think my point of trading him is idiotic.... but only time will tell who the idiot is.

I can't believe they didn't get this done when they were talking about an extension for over a year!!! They better get an extension done because he is one of the younger guys on a defense that definitely has age and they let Adalius go in the hopes to get him to agree to an extension. I don't know I'm pretty underwhelmed by this offseason.

Interesting that Oz mentions Ogden, ...as if they'd like him back.

Well, Steve Bigshotti has to have enough money under the cap to sign his BFF Ray Lewis to an above market deal like he promised.

Interesting that signing Suggs to an extension is supposedly one of the things that would hold up the Ravens from getting Favre because of salary cap issues. Now they say they won't sign Suggs until next year. The Ravens have several players that'll be Free Agents next year so they could clear up cap space if they don't re-sign some of them. What does this mean? The Ravens could be preparing to sign Favre this year and then re-sign Suggs when some of their guys become UFAs next year.

The Ravens aren't signing Favre. Seems Ozzie finally got it through his thick skull signing has been qb's doesn't get you far these days. Maybe once he'll realize tackles and wide receivers are kind of important too. Favre is shot, time for him to go away for good now.

Suggs had better have one hell of a year or he may have shot himself in the foot.Budafinguz, I agree we should have unloaded this guy on draft day . I think the team may regret not doing so.

It's not in this article, but Suggs is talking about sitting out training camp and says that he'll consult Ed Reed and Ray Lewis for advice. Don't ya just love today's athletes!! No character, no loyalty, no concern for THE TEAM, it's all just me, me, me!! What "lesson" is Sugg$ gonna teach the RAVENS brass by sitting out training camp? He's gonna show them that he's a small, greedy individual. But mostly, he's gonna miss time that he needs to get into football shape and start bonding with teammates. But hey, I'm sure he can come in here cold and match his mighty sack total of FIVE from last year!! Wonder what advice Ed Reed and Ray Ray will give him? Hey Ozzie, don't break the bank for this fool!!

Where are you getting this info? Suggs was around all offseason even though he could not practice. Franchise tagged players don't have to sign the tender and report to camp on time or face fines. There are other guys on the roster who could really use the reps anyway. I want to see what Barnes can do in his spot, and Burgess, Gooden needs reps, Ajanbadajo, Stills is battling for a roster spot. Suggs can sit out 2 a days for all I care as long as he is ready to go put Palmer on his back come week one.
