I'd much rather still have Jamal than McGahee. Jamal was the top 5 rusher and practically all of his offensive stats were better than McGahee's. Plus Jamal always got stronger and pounded the defense as the game went on (3rd & 4th quarters). It was great watching him run over and smash Joey Porter at the Steelers game in 2006. Willis took himself out of games when the game was on the line because he was too dehydrated.

Your right on again mike. The selection of coordinators has been excellant and as a result we are in the best shape we have ever been when it cames to coaching. What I would like to see now is an improvement in the selection of second and third round draft choices. Take a close look at the choices from 2003 to the present. I give them a F in that area of the draft. I would be interested in your opinion. It is my opinon that alot of improvement can come to our team by acquiring personnel that will be around after three years and will actually do more then be part time players or worse yet do not play at all or are constantly injured. I beleive it is wise to draft real football players regardless of position. There are several RB's that can easily replace some of the older and injury prone backups. In addition there is a WR in the draft that is a great open field runner and return man. He also has the ability to hold on to the ball. His name is Hawkins. That's my opinion for what it is worth.

Further comments on the draft. I beleive there are four positions that must be addressed in this up coming draft. Offensive line, QB , CB and DE. WE need to complete the reshaping of the OL. Secure a QB for the future. None of what we have are more than backups. Replace Rolle in the near future. Acquire a outstanding DL prospect to insure a
pass rush as that is imperative to the play of the CB,s. Our first round prospect is either a DL or OL player.

By the way, I think Preston is an excellent writer. I don't always agree with him, but his writing is clear, to the point and succinct. I know he needs to write that way, because some of you readers seem to be a bit stupid.

The truth? He might be 100% wrong! It's weird seeing Preston positive about something. I guess it's because it's an unknown factor, and Billick has so little respect for him, that he's all gitty about new faces. Let's wait it out for a little time to see Preston go back to his negative whining. The mediocre, lazy writing's always gonna be there.

Mike, keep up the good work your honest and you know what you’re talking about, it make a big differences when you played the game. I look forward to next season and reading your columns. So far I agree the Ravens have made all the right moves.
Now Let’s not just defense, not just offense and not just special teams,

Playing at Towson Teachers College qualifies you as an expert???? He's giving his opinion and that's all. Everyone's got one and his isn't worth any more than yours or mine. The problem is his total lack of insight and real inside knowledge. Don't mistake sarcasm and constant insults for intelligence and expertise.

Clearly, many of you clowns don't care WHAT mike writes. You have a personal issue with him and you will rag on him no matter what he says. Feel free to disagree with him, but try bringing some facts to the table to support your disagreement.

You've got to be kiddding-Using that bunch of overpaid, old, over the hill gang of veterans for a nucleus? I thought there was going to be a new thought procedure with a new coach and staff. In fact,as I wrote before,Ryan should be coaching elsewhere and a new sheriff should be in town to handle the thugs.

Unfortunately, he's also saddled the team with "Old players, too high a price". He's good, but he's not infallible. And that's brought about cap hell for the Ravens.

Look on the ravens team web page www.baltimoreravens.com and check out their coaches page. You will notice a bad omen. We have a Rex in charge of D, a D-backs coach, a D-line coach, an outside LB coach... and no coach for Ray Lewis. Read into that whatever you'd like.

Agreed with alot of your assessment w/ exception of first round pick should be a lineman. Dead on with the rest. Keep posting as I see you have done your research. Also who is the WR your talking about, is there any U-tube footage on this guy and what makes him so good in your opinion ?

Preston's critical. More forthcoming than some other beat writers in other cities. He did express opportunities for offensive improvement with the hirings of Fassell and Slick Rick. Now, he may not always provide that 'Uhuh'-feeling, but few writers do. How's 'Franklins' doing?
