Oakland Raiders must bench JaMarcus Russell

The Oakland Raiders offense is off to a horrifically bad start . They have only managed a total of three touchdowns in four games, with none of them coming in the past two games.

Laughable...It's only four games in...we need to address a lot more than a QB switch...the QB does need to play better, that said the O-line needs to step up as well as the WR's...this will open our Running game...Benching the guy we think is our future after four game is nuts.....9 dropped balls last week...that's not on the QB...yes he has a cannon and yes the WR's probably aren't used to his arm strength...but 9 dropped balls... We have a tough game this week against the Giants....but I still think we will see improvement.

Schilens going down in camp hurt the passing game a lot and with Gallery out with a broken fibula has really set our OL back. They said that Gallery would only be out 4-6 weeks but that's the same injury that put Michael Bush out for the season his senior year of college and he was even held out his first year in the NFL. The passing game is a mix of Russell being in accurate and Receviers dropping passes. This passed week it was more receivers dropping passes.

We've fallen backwards from how we finished last year. Week one we looked like the team we were at the end of the season but since then despite winning in week 2, we looked like the team we've been the last 6 years. We've got a tough opponent this week against the New York Giants, but we've got to make a statement. We may not win, but we've got to keep our defense off the field and control the game. We may not win, but if we keep it close I think it will say something.

i've been looking at it that way when the game starts. then, it gets worse through out the rest of the game. like it or not i wach the whole game. but i basically am waching to see how everyone does throughout. so basically, everyone has done good and bad. the way i see it is, if everyone gets on one pace it will get done. i see russell connecting and, passes being dropped by receivers and the (o)line not blocking their (qb) good enough.(d) is playing descently good. so, no, we're not far off even if it looks that way. but i will critisize one person more than the rest and that is j russell. because as much as i don't want to say anything negative about our own, he does needs to get his shit together. and i see signs of that happening. but? anyways, we need to click at the same time to make it work.(i'm in) GO RAIDERS,GO RAIDERS, GO RAIDERS!!!!!

I agree with you. This guy usally is on target, but he is off target with his article. Russell appears to know the playbook and where to go with the ball. If the playbook is not big enough, that's on the coaches.

Russell is not the root of our problems. Sometimes he's inaccurrate and other times the receivers are dropping passes. Either way our passing game is no threat for opponents to recognize...until it is, we can expect 9 in the box every play because they know what Michael Bush and Darren McFadden are capable of.

Russell claims to be the leader and Tom Cable clearly says that there are no leaders on offense. If there is one it's Robert Gallery for the line and with him out, they really suck.

They outlawed the wedge for returns because we were successful with it last year. Why can't they outlaw playing 9 in the box since opponents are dominating our offense with it. It doesn't even give us a chance to make a play...I'll bet if our defense played 9 in the box they'd outlaw it.

Jamarcus Russell lost the football twice before he was even hit today...I've defended him in the past, but there is no excuse for that. He's not playing like a first round pick. I don't see him as the leader he needs to be and leadership is what we highly lack on offense and I don't see it from anybody.
