Exactly! Why does everyone blame the teachers? This financial crisis did just not happen overnight! Why did the district agree to a contract they knew they could not sustain???? Have some balls Stewart and stand up to the union and negotiate with money you actually have!

Here is what Weinberg needs to do in order to receive a bushel of roses:

# 1 - Turn back his $18,000.00 bonus.

# 2 - Ask that he take a pay CUT of at least 5 percent, if not 10.

# 3 - Advocate spending down some of his precious "fund balance."

Then and only then will taxpayers and teachers alike be able to take him seriously. Until then, with a thick wallet (thanks to bonus) and a bloated District bank account (thanks to overtaxation and a huge "rainy day" fund he sounds like an f n liar.

THORNS: To the Dallastown teachers union for filing an unfair labor practice claim against the district. The nit-picky charge was filed because the subject of a wage freeze was discussed during some of eight voluntary sessions held for employees to discuss the district's financial status.

Unfair labor practices are unfair labor practices. To classify them as "nit-picky" is to do a disservice to work place protection so many have due to the work of unions in the past.
