.."deal with it and move on" "put it all behind him"..such cliche that's often used when someone screws up; sorry, but this is like a permanent tattoo..it's there today, and it'll be there ten years from now, especially on someone in the teaching business..I think coach Mac is sincere with his apology, and I believe him to be a good person, he just got caught expressing what most of us say behind close door..Coach, next time, do like the Gov of Cal; use the word "sissy men"//

He should be fired.. He made a mistake and said a bad word. Thats ok... everyone makes mistakes! Then he used the word two more times. This is not the coach we want representing our State and school.

Name calling has always been a part of Football's dark culture. No excuse but no one should be fired for that.

Wasn't the Superferry fiasco enough? Why are people hell-bent on making Hawaii look like a state of fools and dolts?

If only people, both Hawaii's governmental leaders and business leaders, would show the same passion when it comes to solving the problems that the people of Hawaii REALLY CARE ABOUT.

You know, like, the massive struggle that Hawaii's #1 industry (tourism) is facing. The fact that unemployment in Hawaii is at record levels. The fact that education in Hawaii is facing unprecedented challenges.

I guess things like that are of no importance, eh?

Obviously, it is more important to be touchy-feely and not learn to forgive and move on when people make an honest mistake.

Instead, let's be extremely relentless in kicking someone when he/she is already down.

Because, apparently, no one else other than the UH football coach has ever made a mistake before in life.

This is done. Move on, people. Enough is enough. Put your energy into solving REAL problems.

People forget he's the "highest paid" State employee and is a "public" figure representing the State to the rest of the country. Further, he supposed to show the type of character and leadership that he supposedly should teach his charge at a place of "higher learning". Lastly, his judgement calls into question the very reason why he is supposed to be paid so much - making the right calls and decisions for a successful athletic program. So far, he has proven to be a failure on all counts. Don't fire him just based on this latest event but on his total body of work, which is PATHETIC! Release him now and we'll avoid all the pain and suffering all of us will truly endure otherwise.
