You don't mention Lorenzo Booker...

The 6 RB/FBs are in place unless there is a setback and they are among the best in the NFL overall: R.Brown, Ricky Williams, Booker, Cobbs, Mauia and Boomer. If they draft or sign a RB...likely headed to practice squad.

If I remember correctly, Parcells not only didn't draft Meggett but was disappointed when the Giants drafted him. He's not the Football God everybody thinks he is.

RICKY WILLIAMS GIVE A BREAK THIS GUY IS A WASTE OF TIME. BETTER OFF DRAFTING A GUY IN LATE ROUNDS 4 OR 6 ROUND. THAT CAN BACK UP AND PLAY SPECIAL TEAMS

Letting Chatman go kinda surprised me.

Strange that Lorenzo Booker was not mentioned in this article. He looked pretty impressive when he finally got a chance to play last year.

Among the best in the NFL? Take your homer glasses off and take a second look. Oh you cant, they're permanently
surgically attached. OK.
I'm glad you're so optimistic and it's good to talk good about your beloved Dolphins but what about Brown getting hurt every year and missing games. What about RW makes ANYONE think he can be the great RB he used to be? Or start using again when one of life's setbacks confronts him. If he has another dirty urine he's done.

Perhaps L. booker isn't mentioned here is because he's under contract . I think he'll be great when his Playing time is increased . If he gains a few pounds he'll be like Westbrook in Philly. I've heard people say he's afraid to run between the tackles . I saw him run there a few times and he got thru a couple of times. As for R. Williams , he's as cheap as you can get . I do agree about R. Brown being injury prone tho . This is not a priority for this team .
What did surprise me was letting Pope go to the vikings .
As for Parcells being a draft guru , He hired Ireland and Gaine to handle that job. Top two scouts for the cowboys .In all fairness , only time will tell there .

I would have liked them to have kept Derrick Pope. He's young and a decent linebacker! He could have blossomed under this new coaching staff!

Pope was let go for the same reason Zach was, he's too small to play LB for Parcells. At 6' and 232 lbs this midget wasn't needed any more, besides he sux.

Every RB in the NFL is an injury risk every week just by virture of the position they play. That's why there are only a few premier backs who do it all themselves for a season. Almost all teams run a 2 back system these days. Ricky and Ronnie would be a great tandem. Plus, Ronnie is one of the best backs in the league catching passes out of the backfield. Sadly the Fins have barely utilized his skills in that area. Lorenzo Booker should be sitting on the bench or returning kicks b/c Ronnie should be our 3rd down threat out of the backfield with Ricky keeping the defense honest as a running threat. I can easily see Ricky having 2 or 3 more years of 600-800 yards a season. Frankly, I think he can get that many yards in his sleep. Not to mention the fact that he's motivated by the ultimate motivator for almost every athlete...MONEY. But, as I've said all along, none of that will ever happen if we don't GET A FRICKIN' BETTER OFFENSIVE LINE IN FRONT OF THEM!!!!!! So, draft several offensive linement next month. It doesn't have to start with Jake Long at #1, but there better be several picked in the top 5 one way or another.

Its great that Williams and Brown are rehabbing, but don't be surprised if Miami either drafts or signs another one or two tailbacks next month. Miami has only 4 tailbacks on the roster as the article states, and usually a team will have 5-6 tailbacks in camp. With Williams and Brown still rehabbing, they wont be available for minicamps either, so I wouldn't be surprised to see more backs in Miami very soon.

I agree - I think we'll see a lot of OL signings coming up in the next month, including the draft. As of right now, Miami only has 7 OLineman even on the roster, and with the 7 they have, they do not have 5 that would be considered starters. Miami usually has anywhere from 14-16 OLineman on the team by the time training camp starts, so look for a lot of work to be done there.

oh yea...one more thing. Parcells doesn't have a good drafting resume, so I hope he's not the one in charge. Frankly, I'd rather have him as a coach. But, I trust his instincts and knowledge. I think he's really looking forward to developing a team/franchise that swats Belichik(?), specifically, and the Patriots on the nose. The next 3-5 years should be interesting to say the least.

Woodstrock, I agree...not only b/c we need RB depth but b/c they can also be good special teams players. But, seriously, the Fins aren't going to find better backs in the draft or FA this year than what they have already with Ronnie, Ricky and Lorenzo...especially since they shouldn't be picking a RB until the late rounds of the draft.
