Band aid qb. Another mediocre loser in the mold of Jay Fiedler, Trent Green, Gus Ferrotte, and now Pennington. I am losing interest in this season already. Play John Beck this year for gods sake. And After 4 games if he sucks cut him and play Henne!

what a bunch of bull crap! I said it once and I will say it again.. Wide Willie P is the most over rated man in Professional football. He is lucky to have the Norwood gift and is nothing more than a quitter to me. Chad Pennington? hahah.. and the beat goes on....

No reason to throw a rookie QB into the fire of the NFL. Pennington for this season or until he gets hurt, then McCown. Save Henne for next year. It would be sweet to see Pennington kick Brett"packer for life"Favre's Azz!

I don't get it, you've got the entire country on the edge of their seats concerned about the status of an older, less commited QB (farve), but then you've got a guy who can obviously handle some buisness (Pennington) that just gets brushed away and nobody cares.. then you have people downplaying this signing. This is awesome. It would be one thing to have a 1-15 season and then come out the first game of the next season and beat the Jets, its another to do it when they have their "new" QB they paid so dearly for but to do it with their own QB that they gave up on on top of all that well thats just a horse of a different color.

Here's to going 2-14 this season, beating the Jets twice and thats really all that matters. Of course, most Jet fans are so classless they still won't stop running their mouths.

I honestly dont know how to feel about this. Ya, Chad's a winner and will help the short pasing game tremendously. But hes got no arm strength... Which completely negates Ted Ginn's deep game, and basically takes him out of the equation. How many bombs to you see being completed to Ginn this year?... Maybe 3, at most.
Chad's signing will help us, but how much really?... 2 or 3 games in my opinion... Definitely not enough to get us in the playoffs... I see us winning 5 to 7 games this year. Just not sure if a few games is worth the 2 year commitment... Especially at the expense of Beck. I see him being the odd man. Not that he's impressed at all in camp, but I think its premature to dump another 2nd round (quarterback) pick and just give up on him after only 5 games, regardless of how poorly he performed. The guy never got a chance.
And if they end up cutting McCown... Thats just a total waste of money... But it is what it is.
Hopefully this move benefits this Phins for the long run... And doesnt come back to bite us in the ass.

The only thing I can say is at least we don't have to see Cleo incomplete right Lemon incomplete left anymore, as Chad has always had a good completion percent.

Here come the haters again.

This move makes sense. Pennington is a proven starter in the NFL and, more importantly, a smart QB that can serve as a mentor to Henne.

It should be clear by now that Beck is considered a hold-back from the previous administration that has failed to impress this one. McCown was an insurance policy signing so that the Dolphins wouldn't be out of a veteran QB this year. Obviously, Chad wasn't available when McCown was signed.

Now the future is clear: Chad is here to lead the 'fins for the next two years or so (and to keep them from being utterly embarrassed) and Henne is the heir apparent to Chad.

I believe the 'fins will keep Beck at least one more year to give him another opportunity, and also to give Henne some competition. McCown on the other hand is history and should be traded before the end of thisweek.
