He will be a starter somewhere. I think Tuna keeps him until mid way through the preseason to see if he shows something special after sitting out this year.

This story is indicitive of how badly the coaches of the last ten years have screwed up this franchise. Especially Cameron.
Beck would have probably been a decent starter or at worst a decent backup. But Cameron made more bad decisions and Beck [and the fans] paid the price. Antoher poster on this thread made the remark that Pennington has only won two games. Well, considering he joined the Dolphins in August that's really not that bad. Especially when you consider we have two losses that an even slightly better team could have turned into wins.
I watched the Ravens dumping Gatorade over Cameron when they won the game like he was vindicated in some way. The reason the Ravens won was partly due to how badly Cameron had screwed up. That was a classless move if I've ever seen one. The guy was a lousy head coach. Last year he took a decent team to a 1-15 record and this year claims he had a bad record with the Dolphins because of bad players. Hopefully we will be playing the Ravens again in the next couple of years. I've got a feeling that it will be something else besides Gatorade that gets dumped on his head then.
Cam didn't make the remarks about the players it was their head coach. After the game 1/2 of the dolphins players greeted him even before the game he talked with a couple of players. He never insulted the dolphin organization he actually thanked him for the oportunity and he accepted the 1-15 record, not like some players who blamed him. He's a class act. He just was thrown to the wolfes last year. He went into the worst possible situation as a head coach, but he never complained. All this hate for Cam should be directed at the GM.Is he even working these days.

Trade Beck to Baltimore. Im sure Cam would trade a pick for him. They need a QB more than alot o teams!!!
They have Flacco which is going to be a top tier QB. He has a rocket arm better than most QB's in NFL now. Plus he can make the touch passes. He reminded me of Doug Williams arm strenght watching him in warm-ups. Cam lucked out with another good QB.

I agree with your post. I also may add that I think Cams decision to be OC and head Coach last year was a mistake. I think he took on too much too soon as a rookie head Coach in the NFL.

Let's hope we aren't dumb enough to trade Beck to the Patriots, then he'll be a Hall of Famer. I'm still mad that Miami Traded Welker to the Patriots. Not that they trade him...but that it was to our DIVISION RIVALS! Meuller should have been fired that day!!!
Welker was an unrestricted free agent. The Dolphins made a qualifying offer to keep him. The Patriots upped the ante. If Miami hadn't matched the Patriots offer, Welker would have become a Patriot anyway and the Dolphins would have only received a 2nd round draft pick from New England as compensation. By trading him, they were able to get the 2nd round pick plus a 7th round pick so they improved on the compensation they would have gotten for a player they were going to lose to a division rival anyway.

I'm no fan of Randy Mueller but, in this case, he made the best of a bad hand.

Draft defense, it always starts with the D. The defense is horrible. There had better not be an offensive pick next draft in the first 2-3 rounds. Stop whining about the past, this team is in the toilet at least until 2010. The next two drafts are all you have to look forward to. Please put your crackpipes down Dolfans, they aren't even sniffing the playoffs for at least 2 more years. Trade Chad Pennington after this year, he'd make a great west coast offense QB, his arm strength is pathetic.

All I remember is that Randy Mule-driver was a genius and that Cam was an Offensive play design genius who would come up with some secret plan to dominate the NFL. The defense would take care of itself, no reason to worry about that. Lets put Joey P in a 4-3 place where he can't rush the passer and pay him $6 Million year. Then Cam was so smart he would not need an offensive coordinator cause he was so gifted. Not that he is a bad human being but he was one of the most clueless head coaches of all time. It really comes down to Uncle Wayne, another good guy but not really into sports. One thing I have learned from the debacle of the Huizinga era, if the owner of your team has no passion for the team they own and sport they play in, your team will always suck.
Is there an Offensive genius that will change the NFL this year?. Sounds like Tony Soprano and Fat Tuna. The Wildcat has changed the entire NFL this year and other teams are starting to copy it. To me that is pretty damn cool. Lets Rock and roll Dolphins, if we keep it up watch the stadium magically fill up for the last games of the season.
