Many years ago, I recall saying that the Dolphins may have to endure a crappy season to get back on track to greatness. A 1-15 season may be familiar ground to Cowboys, Jets and Patsies fans, but it's brand, spanking new to Dolphins fans. Now that it's behind us, let's move forward. And that means no more discussion of Brady Quinn, Chris Chambers and Wes Welker. All water under the bridge, and contributes nothing to the matter at hand.

As for the 'lack of compassion' in Cam's firing, football is not a compassionate business. Simple as that. Maybe the Dolphins need a 'tough, take-no-prisoners' attitude? Shula only became a nice guy after he retired; any of his players will tell you what a disciplinarian he was. For years, Miami was the least-penalized team in the league...and one of the best. And his players played with passion, vigor and a real knowledge of the game.

Saban was just a jerk. Wannestadt's only real success came as DC of the Cowboys. Jim Bates was the only visible hope back then, and he was let go in favor of Nick. Oh, well. Again, water under the bridge.

The good thing is that Miami has a lot of picks this year, and will probably get more. That, plus free-agency should field an interesting Miami Dolphins for the '08 season. It will also be interesting to see who is on the sidelines and in the booth...and what their roles will be.

It's a whole new ballgame, Dolphins fans! Here's to hoping, again.

I couldn't feel better about the things that are happening. I have said it several times before: every team needs to go through this. Because it makes them realize how crummy they truly are, everyone looking around at each other going "why do we suck so bad?", all the way to the top. It causes heads to roll. A thorough cleansing if you will.

Fortunately, it seems our luck has finally changed for the better. To invoke the change, we didn't end up with some other lunkhead who'll come in and think "only a few things need to be tweaked, just to appease the owner that most of the people he's been accustomed to don't have to be fired. Convincing him that we can replace a couple of coaches and players here and there and "it's all good". Our luck falls in the timing: Wayne was able to lure probably the most successful football "daddy", when he wasn't locked down by a contract, and at a time when we desparately needed it. And it's someone who isn't about to just appease the boss either. It's a football god with a hatchet who isn't afraid to tell the boss the morons he felt great about hiring less than a mere year ago are truly morons, and I'm gonna fix things from top to bottom the way it should have been done in the first place.

I don't much care if Parcells only stays a couple of years. I don't care that he went 3-12-1 his first season as head coach and made all kinds of mistakes. I don't even care if the analysts and the media makes Jeff Ireland out to be Tuna's puppet. What I see happening is he is bringing in young protoge's that he can influence, mentor, train, mold, practice and carry out his vision where he finally has the god like powers to do so. Let them label Ireland a puppet, go right ahead. Because in this process, and long after Parcells is gone, Ireland will have what he needs to continue building and maintaining this team the way it should have been.

trade down a few slots in the draft ....... get Jake Long, OT from Michigan and an extra 2nd round pick. Use one of our 2nd round picks to get Donovan McNabb, QB from Phil ..... also, use one of the other 2nd round picks for a good WR Like Sewed from Texas or Maningham from Michigan

This new attitude _ I LOVE IT!_ will trickle down from the top to every being in the franchise. And it is about time that Miami fans develop this kind of attitude: It is your team, your town and your stadium and you should not welcome outsiders into your arena.

Bring IT on!

This has been the best month for the Fins in at least 10 years. The Fins will be fine - adults are now in charge. Oh and the same hearty congratulations to Belicheat for winning "Coach of the Year" that's been extended to Barry Bonds for his MVP awards.

Easy to talk tough when there's no game on Sunday to measure against.

It's good to hear Ireland say he wants the team to be 'big'. The Dolphins have been pushed around for too long. Teams don't fear going to Miami and getting beat up. I'd like to see then become a 'punishing team', so when the game is over the visiting team knows they've been in a tough game.

Also... get the Marlins out of the stadium.

Felix,
Get a life! Enjoy what you can when you can because you won't get 19 and watch what happens in the next season or two to you Patsies! It's nice to go from the cellar to the penthouse, isn't it!?! Just don't be shy when we come asking what it's like getting evicted from the PH because that's what eventually happens! And it will happen to you too! Have a nice day!

Dave Hyde, you have to be smarter than to write a story telling everyone the Dolphins will turn it around. Hello, they were 1 - 15 , it doesn't get much worse. Of course they will turn it around and maybe win 3 games next year. They just fired the entire coaching staff, you know, the guys that were missing the tackles and fumbling the ball and dropping the passes.

Cameron treated Culpepper the same way Parcells is treating Cameron, so what is your problem, Culpepper sucked and Cameron brought in his own guy.

The Dolphins needed this 1-15 colonic to turn the frnchise around with an injection of young talent thru the draft. And which is it Hyde, not fair to Cameron, or just rewards to an obvious example of the Peter Principle. His many mistakes in personell issues as well as game strategy proved that he was way over his head. Weren't you saying that the Dolphins should keep Cam the other day? I read your collumn only sometimes, but when I do, I am reminded that you don't know anything!

Of course they will turn it around. If they win 2 games next year, thats turning it around. They suck now, and will suck for a long time. Only 3 teams have not made the playoffs in over 9 years: Detroit, Arizona, and the Crap-Fins! Let go of '72 and come to the realization that they might not win again until 2072. Tuna will explode at the Chinese buffet.

I don't see the turn around as takingf too long. I will stop talking about Ginn vs Quinn and Wes but I am still not so happy about Joey P. Maybe Joey can restructure to help give us some more cap room.

The Parcell's mafia es coming to Miami. They control the money cartel and bitches. Will they win a play-off game, after ten years of failures?

Prediction: Fins end up with Dallas' 2 first round picks and maybe a second day pick.

Dallas takes McFadden because Jones believes that will give him enough to win the Big Game. I also think this ties into why Jones let Ireland go right away - he could have held this up for some period of time which would have screwed up Parcells' plan.

This deal has already been made. The Tuna avoids the cost and risk of the first pick and he picks up an extra high pick and maybe a second one.

Oh! I kinda like the Pats but will they be surprised when Jacksonville gives them a new hat by kicking the Pat's as@ up around their head.
